Edited by: banrocc on 13/07/2004 18:04:52 Come on how can anyone agree with corp theft unless they have been a thief themselves..... How you can say its ok to to rip a corp off as part of some way of fighting a corp sometimes ending that corp i might add. I also dout many are actually working for corps but use the spying excuse to hide there lame actions.......It takes time to get a thief into position so unless all the corps can see the future how can they say oh he was put in place 3 months ago that is unless they plan there wars that far ahead which i dout....a spy is someone who joins just before or jast after war starts not 3 damm months ahead then leaves after ripping corp ..... while we are talking about lame it's about time ccp added a feature to say who owns what alts or accounts via a familly related line or a id number with a data base we can check.......that will get rid of the damm thieves .... It so easy to get a charecter into a corp and just wait to build trust then empty the hangers they keep the isk they get and run onto next corp.. We get screen shots of charecters before they sign up in the vain hope we can stop some but as many know there loads with 2 accounts and alts so we have no way of knowing who they are......Just to find out who stole what is like shutting the door after the horse has bolted...But a data base of offenders would be good :) give us ceo's the chance to see who's who noone has to change about spys or thieves then cause if we dont do the checking its fair enough if a spy gets in.....

I want to share my views on corp theft and CCP.
I have NO respect what so ever for CCP anymore, due to them allowing corp thiefs to go unpunished.. They allowed that 1 person can be able to ruin the game for many others and get no punishment what so ever.
Untill the day they start letting "CONCORD" look into these matters of theft, and start giving out sec rating hits for stealing (Thats all they need to do to make me happy), I will have no respect left for and only hate CCP..
BAH. ------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

Maybe Sally had tech II missiles?
Maybe she expected you to fight 3 vs 1 with your travel setup on?
Maybe she expected you to warp to a safespot and logout?

Sally, ian666 isn't a coward and neither is he stupid.
Don't complain if someone chooses the wise path and chooses not to face a situation he isn't equipped for.
I'm sure you would've done the same when faced with 3 pilots and you're not using a tanked pvp-capable ship.

Yes, we all realize that corp theft is currently part of the game, and that is why we are petitioning it.
Consider this:
1. You have been playing Eve-Online for 6 months -> 1 Year. 2. You and your corp have built up corporate assets that everyone highly values, and considers it a direct translation of all there hard work behind the mining-lasers / research-agents / other-high-paying-professions. 3. All you hard work is finally starting to pay off for you as you are FINALY seeing a return on your thousands of hours of investment. 4. The people you work with in your corp all trust each other implicitly, and your work-force functions as a whole unit. 5. Someone that you trust more then you trust other people in your corp, and also someone that is seen as a leader turns around and stabs you and your entire corp in the back, by stealing all that you hold dear.
So that ^ is the operations of a corp thief. When this happened to Playboy Enterprises (talking from my own experience on this subject), 80% of the corp (around 40 very active people), quit the game. I can assure you that if this happened to you, that you would also feel devastated and cheated. This would go beyond the in-game experience for you and would effect you in real-life, as this translates to a real-life investment of your life/hours.
Also keeping in mind that this is only a game that we are all here to enjoy, this kind of feeling is not something that I believe is too enjoyable.
Obviously this game feature is having inverse effects on game-growth of the playerbase. Not a very health feature IMO.
That is all I have to say on this subject.

Let me say it like this:
Been there.. Done that.. And its not very freacking fun..
Corp theft must be punished, but in a ingame way (using concord and standing hits is the best way I can see.. Well and allowing to kill the thief on sight.) ------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

Solution:-
Do not give anyone access to all hangers, do not give anyone director, give them the sub-director jobs aswell as access to all hangers except one, which is used for all the rare things such as BP's ore and the like.
Problem solved, phone soon... urm...

i love how all the folk against doing more about corp theft are griefer/theif/pirates them selves. I find that more than a little cute :)
anyway, CCP's corp set up is a pile of hog-wash (stinky). You have to have 1 trusted person, the CEO, hold everything. that limits the ability for others to steal anything good but also the proper distrabution of assets for access. then all you have to hope for is that your CEO isn't a git bastard. Still because of CCP's hog-wash CEO's are kings more or less. and in reality ussually the CEO is the one who mainly build the corp anyway so I supose there is some logic in the supreme power of the CEO. It is there corp anyways It hink was my point, so if they steal from the corp they are stealing from them selves and just abusing their underlings.
I can't decide if corp theft is good or bad. I've never been stolen from beyond donation hanger mods that I of course freely placed there to be taken anyway (and if felt good to hunt Lenny Kravits down for it). You can't trust anyone and I don't so no one screws me. impossible for anyone in EVE to take anything of value from me with out blowing it up while I'm riding it space which happens on more than a few occation but then what are pixels for if not to explode in a pretty display :)
still I would interject that items, BPS and Isk can be traded for RL money. as such it brings a level of true theft to the game when these ill gotten gains are sold on ebay. that is perhaps where the foulness lies, for it would seem to be one thing when a low down scum sucker leeches from the game time of others and pats him self on the back like he is some mavrick secret agent, and entirely another when that self same lame brain turns a real life profit on those items and then sets his sites on others.
so again I don't know, but certainly in america when someone thinks they can steal from you they have to risk a pistol and dog and if they are caught they die or if they are lucky and no one was home, go to jail. That way makes me feel better, to me at least it is moral.
just my rambling *2 isk*
I'll certainly sign for something more that shiva's useless "fix." directors and CEO's will still be able to steal the items with their "fix" and as it stand right now only those with access (I.E. director types) really can steal now anyway...so bascially Shiva's "hog-wash" is still as it is: Stinky pig poo water
