Edited by: LOLZ on 15/07/2004 15:03:27 does anyone ever get worried when some of the empire faction's that start to dislike them? afaik faction ship's and there sentry gun's start to shoot at you when you get -2 or lower with a specific faction?
is it a real possibility that i could jump threw a stargate and find some caldari sentry guns on the other side that could wipe out my battleship before my screen even load's?
btw why the hell do caldari dislike me for doing gallente mission's when both those faction's are suposed to have some kind of treaty now? didnt they do some joint station in crielere ages ago.

yes they did but the reason it isn't now is for caldari taking what gallente called more than their fair share of knowledge.
tentions are high between the races due to that........don't forget gallente/caldari war ages ago(hostilities)
As far as caldari not liking you due to running gallente missions........
probablly same reason why gallente don't like me for running caldari missions.

At -5 you get the caldari navy after you if your caldari standing is -5 for instance, before that nothing happens. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

I personally think no empire should be more than marginally negative to any other empire faction (max -0.5) but should be majorly negative to pirates and vise versa (-5 to -8) to give more of a dichotomy between empire and pirate factions.
I think it's bad form that Gallente would hate me for hauling garbage, or killing guristas pirates in a Caldari mission personally.
the only exceptions I would make are kill other faction ships in missions, they should incur the normal hit for hitting npc ships of that faction.

No clue, don't have that skill. I like being hated by the Caldari.
And it takes several thousands of missions for a opposing faction for a faction to start disliking you enough to become a issue. Don't think that needs any reworking personally. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

ok i could clear some mess with this topic (i have nice standing to ammatar, khanid and amarr ) when you have high "-" standing to some fraction you start to be hunted (followed) by enemy battle group, they will jump after you and try to engage. This group is very wimpy: only one cruiser and two normal frigates (not elite), you are able to take them down even in rifter. Furthermore if you engage them no concord criminal flag will show up so you could either dont care about them or kill them. Even if you fly on autopilot around 300m/s they dont have enough time to fire single shot to you so they arent any problem to all ships except industrials with cargo expanders. Industrial with nanofibers could outrun them easily.
Everything is based on my experience and mentioned battle groups was amatar in origin... hehe they dont like minmatar freedom fighters

Do they drop some interesting cargo/module?

Agent runners are overt, and scapegoats. As for RP, some of those kill missions could actually have been planed the other way; YOUR the target, YOUR the sacrifice to smooth relations over, or it's just a back stab with the other empire and while your the target, your agent fully intended for you to survive, or sent the 'wrong' agent into the ambush.

Edited by: CidHighwind on 22/07/2004 03:34:03 Frankly, you only get the faction loss form importants, and fromt he 20+ importants Ive done, I've only got -.2 Gallente. Frankly, you would have to do hundreds of importants to get -5, which would be thousands of missions total.
Not gonna happen anytime soon.
And if it gets close, simply start doing missions for them. You only lose around a tenth of what you gained on your other factions. So do ten or so importants for Gallente, Caldari, whatever, and its all fixed.
EVEN BETTER- Do missions for Interbus, and ALL empire standings go up!
NOt only that, but your standing for that empire's corps will still be 0! And since it takes the greater of Corp or Faction standings, your standing could be -10 gallente, and you could still do level 1 missions for ALL gallente corps, considering you didnt do anything to them directly, like kill convoys!
