Guessing this will get locked but this forum gets the most views.
So one of our POSs after the patch, decided to move over 100km from where it was anchored. All the guns and modules that were anchored outside of the POS shields stayed where they were. All the ships that were sitting inside the shields did not move either. If you warp to your bookmark you are now sitting over 100km from the tower, but all the mods are in a nice tight little circle where the tower used to be. Now the end result was several capital ships sitting unmanned in space with the tower way off. Please everyone reading this be aware and pull in your ships until CCP can figure this out. This is localized to just this one POS, however checking your remote POSs may be in order.
BTW! i would like to congratulate Huzzah for jumping right on the exploit wagon and taking advantage of this wonderful bug. I am sure the assets will be removed from you in short order. We took an amazing screen shot of it, will have to post it up somewhere, it will give you a laugh.

I do not believe i said anything about CCP. I said that the assets would be removed from them in short order. However i am sure the powers that be are more than interested in how this happened. It is fun finding a bug and helping to get it fixed.

I think you are not understanding. The tower itelf moved, and actually is still moving slowly further and further away. But hey, i suppose reading is not your strong point.
BTW, The POS was not configured by Shade. It belongs to one of our very close friends but resides in our space. You must be on our killboard with a comment like that. =)

As Gerdan said, the Tower itself was moved during a Downtime. There is/was no player action that could have caused this. Also, it wasn't a Shade. Tower, nor our Capitals. Don't know why Sorrowed said it was.

LOL 1. It was not a shade pos 2. You stole ships out of a pos due to a bug in game (i think they call that exploit) 3. LOL

Wow - just wow! This is twice is 2 days someone has tried to accuse Huzzah of exploits! We did kind of feel sorry for you guys and weren't going to say anything. But... since you mentioned it...
Had you not had a 20+ man gang running around and were instead taking care of business, like making sure caps were safe and all... you had way more than enough time to correct the situation and safeguard your assets.
We merely had a covert checking you guys out who stumbled upon a Dread and Carrier outside the shields - we then did what any self-respecting mob would do and said thank you very much and raced your gang back there and hopped in and flew them away.
Exploit? heh, whatever. Given that this occured many hours after downtime AND you had an active pilot in system witnessing the theft - I dare say your hope of petition success should be fading...
Anyway we love you guys - good fights and all that jazz - let's not get too bitter though eh? This time you lost cop it on the chin and move on...
BTW: Kasigi - who's got 2 bigger ones now? _______________________

The POS and caps were not ours. I posted a warning so people would check there POSs. The POS was in our space but did not belong to Penumbra, or any corp that is part of Penumbra. It is visably obvious when ya warp to a pos that has a perfect circle of mods that are anchored to a tower that is 178k from it, that there is some kind of codeing bug going on.
Do i think huzzah is lame for doing it? yes. Would i have done it? No. I would have filed a stuck petition right there on the spot. Dose that mean huzzah are any different that the other 90% of the people that are on this board that would have done the same thing? No.
your guys opinion of the situation really dose not matter to me. If the end result is that everyone checks there POSs then my mission was accomplished. As for huzzah, well i guess that is between us now isnt it .

If, as you say, your not interested in the opinions of fellow CAOD poasters why are you back here re-affirming your position on the subject.
Im sure there is a bug thread that would get more attention from those involved in bug hunting.

Man....
I post a warning and i get people argueing over my choice of words. Fair enough.
Quote: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search In the realm of online games, an exploit is usually a software bug, hack or bot that contributes to the user's prosperity in a manner not intended by the developers.
What is or is not considered an exploit varies between games and developers. The EULA (End-User License Agreement) typically states what type of gameplay is not acceptable. Thus, some developers may consider AFK gameplay to be an exploit, while others may not.
So yes, Gaining due to a bug or flaw not intended by the developers. I could have sworn i used the correct word.
Sorry i had to name who did it. Its really not that big a deal i suppose but everyone would have asked anyhow. Thats why i congratulated you.

We took the screen shot after the fact, of the tower sitting way off. For the petition of course. We had no idea. Like i have said, it was not a shade POS, it is simply in our system. We usally dont run around every night and check every POS we have eve wide directly after DT. Especially not other peoples POSs. You must admit. It dose look funny.

There was more than one shade pilot who warped to the pos and warped off, between us noticing them and taking them. You had a 20-man fleet just a couple of jumps away. You had plenty of time to get there and stop this happening.
As for a bug whatever, a previous poster is correct, CCP does not care how or why ships that were in a shield were stolen (apart from bowling); ships not stored in an array are not safe.

Sounds like the Minmatar speed bonus on POS finally kicked in. Next time be more careful about bumping it before the anchor timer kicks in.

Well if the pos is still moving, that's one for the archives... I do remember once a guy was unanchoring pos modules and an artillery battery took off in a random direction at 1km/sec.... eventually a gm turned up and webbed it and put it back.
Someone with decent eve-search skills could probably find that thread.
Eventually the pos will be fixed, but ships within a shield are not safe. It would be disappointing if they got returned. Perhaps we should reprocess them now and sell the minerals
