Ok, so I expect this post to 1)attract ALL sorts of flames, so here is my response to that:
I am entitled to my opinion. I am entitled to be upset. I can cry about it if I want to.
2)this thread will probably be removed before anyone reads it anyway; so, Im really just doing this for my own sanity. I need to vent..
I had left Eve about a year ago after playing the game for about 8 months. I made the natural progression from doing missions in empire, to joining a 0.0 corp and fighting in a war against BoB. Yeah, thats what everyone does in eve, so what else is new. I left because of 2 reasons. 1) I didn't like the fact that if you wanted to solo, pretty much all you could do is missions. Maybe be a ganker, but, I never had the stomach for it, as I hate being ganked so much... 2)even though its supposed to be a "space battle" game, it seems more like a "space stock market" game. And Im ean, come on, who really wants to play stock market all day? The promises of ambulation in stations and atmospheric flight sound cool, buts its really just polishing a turd. I mean, what is the fun of flying into a mission and sitting in one spot and waiting for everything to die... Of course that is until you break one of the obscure rules that causes you to get concorded, like smartbombing your corp mate in empire.. Oh wait, you can smartbomb your corp mate, right, I mean, people in the same corp dual all the time in empire to test their fits? Not if youre in an NPC corp. Rad. So, anyway, yeah, if you can't figure it out already, my corp mate warped in as I was smartbombing frigs on a level 4 mission (Buzz Kill), and I got concorded and lost my fully fitted T2 Hyperion. Ouch. You know, it wouldn't have been all that bad if I lost it against some players, even if I were ganked, or caught at a gate with my pants down or something. But to have been blown up by concord for something as stupid as damaging a corp mate in empire is, well, ridiculous.
Yeah, I know. It's the rules. I shouldn't have done it. It's my own damn fault. Whatever, it still sucks, I think its stupid, and I dont like it. Some of you may say, 'well, you did the smart bomb in empire, dummy, you deserve to get concorded..." Well, deserve's got nothin' to do with it. Anyway, Im starting to not be as mad anymore, I wanted to start this rant as a diatribe against eve and ccp, but really, I dont even care.
I remember the olden days of space computer games, like Elite, and Sundog (If anyone remembers sundog, then you are effing AWESOME, and are definitely a true space-game enthusiast), and while the graphics might not have been elaborate, like eve, you still got to ACTUALLY PILOT YOUR OWN SHIP, not just sit there and tap a few keys and watch it all happen... And honestly, not that entertaining to watch. Heres my impression of an eve battle, with typed sound effects.. *Fwooosh* (warp-in) *beep beep beep* (lock on), *whoosh* *klick* *klick* (weapons), *ka-boom* explosion. Yup, about that much excitement. I dont know, I dont expect to get anyone here to sympathize with me. I know you will probably all vigorously defend CCP and Eve, and that's cool, whatever, but, really, this game leaves MUCH to be desired. I mean, how hard would it be to actually make the flying interface a little more simulator like, I mean, that would be a lot more fun, to actually FLY your ship and chase down frigs and blast them. Instead of sitting in one spot and waitng for the mission to end, until, OOOPS, you got concorded... Rad. Now I gotta check the market to see if my trit bars sold. Whee, this is so much fun, I think what Ill do next is put a GOD DAMN BULLET IN MY HEAD CAUSE THIS GAME IS SO DAMN BORING.. Oh, by the way, CCP, I quit for a reason. And although I fell for your stupid five day trial, please stop sending me emails. I mean, pretty much the feeling you get thinking "whats the point of playing eve for only 5 days?", well, I feel that way about the whole game.

on a serious note tho, if you want solo stuff you might wanna try faction warfare as thats one thing you can do solo, even tho its hard

There is a reason you cannot smartbomb a friend in an NPC corp, it is to stop pilots joining NPC corps to just go round killing NPC members,the killing fields of Empire would be as red as a baboon's backside

It's important to note that even the smallest ships in eve are still fairly large. A frigate is the size of a 747. It isn't a fighter jet.
The interface isn't a simulator because if you really wanted to simulate what happens on a eve ship you'd be shouting orders to people who would then carry them out. In essence you'd have what we have now but with significant module lag as a FEATURE
be careful what you wish for...

flying our own ship like in simulators......now that is something cool but not sure if and how it can happen.

EVE is not for everyone. You like fast paced tirggerfests that don't punish you harshly for doing stupid things and allow for more manual control. You knew EVE isn't like that, since you played it for months, so why whine about it at this point? The market is full of games that cater to your desires, so why don't you do as all a favor and spare us the whineage.

To the OP. I was going to say what are you talking about then I realized that you are in a NPC corp. This game is as much about the ties to other pilots that you make as it is about everything else.

What were you trying to accomplish when you wrote that? Did you believe we'd all read it, have an epiphany, and march out of the game as you did? Call me stupid, but I've never understood the motivation behind giant walls of "I quit" text.

Smartbombs in empire is just bad juju any way you slice it.
For soloing, all you found were missions or beltganking?? You were being lazy. In the past week, I've done a almost a dozen cosmic anomalies, two radar sites, a pair of combat plexes, and two medium bistot belts. You need to get out more, you're missing quite a bit.
As for the play style, I've done the twitch thing. Even got damned good at it. Its a great adrenaline rush, until your doctor tells you he'll be carving your wrists open because your hand's swollen to three times its normal size and you have no feeling in your fingers. Carpal Tunnel, baby, ain't it ****ing grand? EVE's controls aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread, more like an MMORTS, which is fine in its own way, but it gets the job done well enough.
In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

This mission is made of pure fail. You shouldn`t listen to everything what your agent is telling you...
Smartboms in missions is a bad choice in the first place. Use drones to deal with NPC frigs.

That's actually "Loser". "Looser" would be to say "My mom is looser than your mom"

If I got the things right from the WoT... The OP is complaining that the game he's looking for is not EVE?
You're looking for a simple game without complexity, and one where you're not encumbered by having to deal with other people, right?
Why on earth did you pick EVE to play????
EVE is the exact OPPOSITE of what you're looking for...
