I totally agree. While I'm not loving the higher prices I have to pay for everything, I know it is for the best and the old cheap prices were artifical. In fact, I'm actually considering mining and producing some of my own equipment. Who knows, I might even start making extra to sell for profit. |

Ending bots ends superblobs obviously. Battleships were not meant to be cheap.

I'd like to see a chart of mineral costs over time with these bot bans highlighted. Things are only impossible until they are not. |

Posting to show my approval of bot bans. Eve is a game of griefing, cheating, and scamming...but all done by players. Bots have no place. |

What I am expecting to see is BS and heavier ships becoming so valuable that they become closely guarded - Warping away any time they come up against heavy opposition. Not unlike First- and Second-Raters in the naval engagements of the Napoleonic Wars. Any time one side was getting beatten too badly, they'd break contact and stand off.
In those days, the real action was with the Third-Raters and below; The 64 gun ships of the line (Think battlecruisers and heavy cruisers'), the Heavy Frigates (Old Ironsides - Light cruisers, effectively), and the lesser-rated ships.
All the really gung-ho officers wanted to sail a well-found frigate; First- and Second-Raters were boring. Not to mention, also not particularly good at getting the prize money.
May we see that day return to EVE? I hope so! |

Having a BPO doesn't mean you aren't affected by the price of minerals rising. Only having miners does that. |

Alliances have miners and huge stockpiles of minerals. And they're probably the ones causing all the speculation right now. Aranakas CEO of-áGreen Anarchy Green vs Green |

"rider23: I was botting 20hrs/day, on 4 accounts, all banned (+1 extra!) for 2 weeks. 2 remain. Now, without botting I have no other way to make isk and get plexes for all accounts even for my main. So there is no way to play for FREE. FREE? Hmm, seems that CCP have problems with their funding to support company, servers, etc.
So, I will let them eat my s**t, and on my 2 remaining unblocked accounts I have started the process to return all characters to the virtual biomass, where they virtually came from. Subscriptions already canceled."
Lawl. Jeez, botting with 4 accounts. What a ******. It's not even like it's hard to make the 500m required to purchase an isk in a reasonable time without any ******* bots. That guy should have definitely been permabanned on all accounts, because he definitely isn't one of the people "just trying it out".
You could PI like a boss with 4 accounts, 12 toons total doing it and make enough to support a PVP habit that eats up BCs and BSs and maybe spend two hours every few days tops on it all totally legit. To me that sounds much better then botting 4 accounts 23/7 and always looking over my shoulder. The smart ones will stop doing it now. Unfortunately I think you have to be a total idiot to want to do bot in the first place. Which is why people still keep getting banned. Alas it makes for still more entertainment in a *very* entertaining game. 'perfer et obdura; dolor hic tibi proderit olim'

Keep it up For those complaining about how this is causing inflation: It's not. It's removing an artificial source of deflation and the prices are returning to the levels they are supposed to be at. All is well, especially if you're an ethical miner or producer, since you no longer have to compete with cheating smacktards.

It feels good becuase these are A$$HATS that deserve everything they get. Those poor Carebears are just tryign to scratch a living by hanging on the bottom rung in the EVE universe. They work harder while the rest of us choose to work smarter.
They sure are cute though! 'perfer et obdura; dolor hic tibi proderit olim'

Agreed.
Botting ruins games. Look at most dead/near dead games. What do they all have a lot of? Bots. I of course have no proof/facts to back up the last statement but is sounds good so whatever. Either way I like the banning and consequent tears of the botters. I plan on living forever.......so far, so good. |

I doubt it will happen, but I think New Eden would be an interesting place if protecting mining ops wasn't about the ISK/h but became a necessity on an alliance level to keep the mineral flow for your sov warfare going.

Renturu wrote:I dont think the Blogger's math is correct. He states
"CCP Sreegs stated he expected to seize 100 billion isk a day from botting accounts. But how much money is that really? Using the average sales price in The Forge in March 2012, it converts to 205 PLEX. Over a month, that is 6,150 PLEX, or over $107,000. That sounds like a lot, but is it in the context of Eve Online? Here are some other figures that puts CCP Sreegs expectations into perspective."
From my calculations with PLEX average at around 450 mil each at 205 per day... thats about 92bil... not too far off for Sreegs.
Unless I added up the wrong column, the average amount paid for a PLEX in The Forge in the month of March was 486,879,049 isk. Now that all the video cards are sold, maybe the price will go back down to 450 million.
