Agreed. Bans should be even harsher actually. Permaban after the 2nd time (who cares if most don't re-offend after the 2nd ban). |

One of the reasons I started playing the game again was because of all the bot going down  I just love it. I even started paying my actual subs because of the new direction of CCP.

The work that the security team has been doing here is amazing. It's wonderful that, after so many years, CCP hired the right talent and let them loose on the botting problem. I'm tempted to send those guys some nice single malt. : >
Definitely looking forward to the dev blog on this - I'm expecting graphs on assets removed, the effects on resource utilization, character age, specific dates of mass banning, correlations to prices and market activity, etc. I'd also like to see some details on the methodologies used, but I'm going to guess that they want to keep most of that secret.
An Eve without rampant botting is certainly a better Eve. The market will sort itself out - it always does. Soon it will be time to start dumping mineral stockpiles as people start mining again.
CCP Sreegs is my favorite developer. |
