It's not your average EVE'er that you need to worry about with guns IRL...it's the carebears that make stupid mistakes and have very short HairTriggers on their EMO-RAGE-QUIT Buttons.

1.5 pound trigger on a 10/22? Are you mad? I have a Volquartsen custom 10/22 with a match trigger group and it's not under 2.5 pounds. 1.5 pounds is crazy crazy. |

i never understood the need for a hair trigger.
it's my opinion that the need for a hair trigger can be overcome with more practice

it wasn't so much the need for a hair trigger, as the trigger was incredibly rough (very jerky)
i dont mind pulling hard, its easy enough, but when it doesnt slide back consistently and give that "SUPRISE!" its a pain. hence the polishing stones. I also clipped out a few coils from the trigger return spring for the same reason. the effect was to smooth the trigger and reduce the pull...the side effect was a hair trigger.

I'm sure if you took it to any competent gunsmith they'd say you've ruined the trigger and that it's unsafe. I wouldn't shoot it at all in it's current condition. Doing a trigger job, particularly on a 10/22's action is a very precise thing that requires you to respect all of the original factory geometry, and if you don't know *exactly* what you're doing (i.e. you're a formally trained gunsmith) then you'll probably screw it up more than fix it.
Messing about with triggers is literally messing about with life and death if done improperly. I'd replace the trigger group with a factory one, or order a custom drop in unit from Volquartsen or something if you want a nice clean match trigger that is actually safe. |

A revolvers single action (the hammer is ****ed back) trigger pull is often quite light and crisp. No fault of the gun. accidental discharges, particularly with revolvers are usually due to operator error. Don't cover the trigger with your finger, ever, until the gun is on target, and this won't be an issue. |

Kinda off the beaten path but this reminds me off the service pistols the Japanese used in WW2. They were so badly made that should the hammer be ****ed back it had a tendency to slip and fire off a round, even if the weapon was holstered. Many leg wounds were attributed to this fact.
That .38 is a different story though, I just wanted to mention that.

Twice. > One of my old neighbors barricaded himself in his ex's house and proceeded to shoot it out with police after attempting to murder his ex-wife > Another old neighbor had his kitchen invaded by bears, while he was home > Had a wannabe gangbanger help himself to my house, while i was home, appearing to be casing the joint
Oh, did I mention the black bears, mountain lions and occasionally bobcats that roam around my property?
Calling the police does me what good in any of these situations? Defend myself with a kitchen knife (assuming I'm even home) for the 7 minute response time? Oh wait, maybe if we had police everywhere at once, I wouldn't have to call them! Er.. no, isn't that called fascism? I know, we'll ban efficient weapons from law-abiding citizens, and hope the criminals have a change of heart and come turn their weapons in too. And those mean ol' wild animals will just leave me alone, because if I'm not armed, it's not fair, and my innards don't taste quite so sweet.
Yea, that'll work. Gee I hope those random *******s that like to shoot into shopping malls and crowds just call it an early night... |

I'm not allowed to carry guns in my country, BUT,
My family built a sheep ranch, and I'm the nightly guard over there, i carry some protection over there because the area is surrounded by drug outlets, i got my 4 babies and a custom made machete that was crafted by my grandfather.
It's an antique, weighing at 12 kilos of high quality steel it can cut through other metal like butter. I maintain it to this day myself. Blade's nearly 30 inches in length. too bad I don't have pictures of it :/
I got attacked by a pack of dogs last year and it came in very handy |

I don't get why people worry about people who legally own firearms lol. It's the drug dealers they should be worried about.
But I digress. Quite frankly I'm surprised that so few Eve players own firearms. Particularly given that the largest subscription block of players are American.
yes, yes, everyone on the media and internet agree that,
everyone who is for gun control is a dirty left wing liberal communist, who have no morals, are atheist, are miserable, are pro-terrorist, are pro-tyranny and anti-freedom etcetc.
The majority of EU is 95% fascists by now, all the people really want to have free guns, but those corporate fascists really give money to the corrupt government and they deny citizens the most righteous right of all.
Everything SU, NGER, did was due to gun control, if everyone had guns, there would be no wars, in fact, everything that is bad is due to stupid gun controllers.

Yes and no, I have a bombshelter and probably more ammo stacked in there then you could buy at your average gunstore.
Said that, being in the millitary i shoot alot of people. Thinking about it, im figuring ill never shoot a human being wile im off duty unless said human being would be threathining me, my family or my civil rights.
I grew up in a country where guns are only used by cops or the army. And only a small percentage of the rest of the population has a LIMITED gunlicence which takes years to get.

lol, like i said, it was a weekend smithing project, im learning rather than leaving trigger work to magic, voodoo, and the ballistics gods. I have a kidd trigger on order, while i play with the parts and learn. =]
I currently single feed the action, like i said, it bump fires, I can drop the gun butt down from 3ft and it doesnt go off, the trigger is safe, its just touchy, and the recoil can let it forward enough to reset the trigger, then pull back enough to fire it again. this actually results in more FTF than double fire though. (the trigger fires before the bolt closes, leaving a round int he chamber with an un****ed hammer)
I'm much more skilled than many people seem to think, just because a gun is involved...ITS STILL JUST A MACHINE, and all machines are always dangerous =P (this includes toasters and blenders, even your computer, they start fires)
