Until I get enough money to purchase a safe (you practically need a vault to house a pistol) I'm sol when it comes to owning a firearm. But on the other hand, I'm pretty lucky, not many people get a chance to go onto a range with one of these
My buddy just bought an STG-556: Pic. No 40mm grenade launcher, but as a full auto trigger group and he runs a really nice Gemtech suppressor on it. My STG is on backorder or I'd post a pic of it.
I'm not a huge fan of gun control. But allowing someone to own what's basically a military assault rifle without the full auto option and a suppressor is pretty insane. What state do you live in, Nevada?

Actually, Hanwei's quality has improved over the last few years, and while they're certainly not in the same league as a proper blade, they make quite a few decent blades. The PPK makes a decent entry level cutter, and their higher level blades such as the oni are actually damn fine swords. Also, a company known as bugei use hanwei blades as a base, customise them extensively and produce what's generally considered the finest production swords in the world
I'm quite familiar with Bugei, and while they probably make the best production swords around, quite possibly in the world, they're not anything that I'd stake my life on in a fight. They're certainly very dangerous, absolutely not a 'show sword'. I've used a few. IMO they're still best left up on a wall however. |

Originally by: rValdez5987 My katana fell under the limit of swords made by Blacksmiths in Japan, which of course left it extremely expensive (several thousand dollars)
I saw a documentary last year about Japanese soldiers, in WWII, still carrying swords as they were trying to follow the Samurai code. Most of these swords were mass produced during WWII and of no real value, but some soldiers had proper craftsman made swords, some quite old as well. American soldiers were taking these swords from dead Japanese as trophies and even though most were no different to the display ones you can buy now, a few would have been the good ones.
In garages and cupboards in America, some people may have very valuable Japanses swords and not even realise it. _______________________________________

Unfortunately I'm stuck in the UK, I need a license for Toy Guns (Airsoft primarily).
The concept of buying anything but an "Agricultural Shotgun" is laughable in this country.
What I wouldn't give to be able to walk into a store, Pick up a 1911 .45 and waltz on down to the range to pop a few targets.
I've personally fired a real gun once. It was a 4-10 shotgun. Exciting.
Our firearms laws got shot to **** when some single jackass went on a rampage (Dunblane Massacre), and because this country is full of limp wristed fgts that just ban problems, we went through a huge phase of banning anything with a trigger almost.
First it was automatics, which is fair enough. Then semi-autos' got smacked down, then anything that fired cartridge ammunition... Then they just thought "Well we've banned this much!" and actually stuck a general ban on anything with "the ability to cause severe physical trauma" or something like that.
But hey, at least we still had the .22 Caliber pop-guns right? Well no, in 1997 they got banned too.
The only one gun you can own is a Shotgun, you need one hell of a license - epic security checks.. and I believe the Police come to your house and check your premises to make sure you have the relevant triple-locked gunsafe and weapon locks for the gun and the ammunition. Basically anything to prevent the gun from being used in an emergency.
Some air-rifles also require a firearms certificate if they have a muzzle energy of over 12ft/lbs.
I envy you Americans, you actually have freedoms written on a bill that is the damned gospel. This country doesn't have base standards, they just change the rules to suit the easiest way out.
The government kneejerk-banned the peoples right (unwritten right i guess) to own guns in damn near every form including toy replicas. The Dunblane Massacre (18 killed including the gunman's suidice) caused a Petition to be signed by around 700,000 people. Apparently this is enough people to take away the right from the remaining 50 million-ish.
Out of 50 million, 700 thousand is damn near nothing. Thats like a 1/70th of the population or something.
At least we can still buy knives if we're over the age of 21, but considering how people have started to resort to stabbing each other now, I guess we'll just ban those - and we'll need a license to buy a decent set of cooking knives soon.
Annnnd then people will just start beating each other with hammers, so we'll ban hammers.
And then fists, those will get chopped off at birth. Soon you'll be able to tell a true UK Citizen from 50 paces.
He'll be a stump, no arms and no legs... and even then he'll fight by biting his enemies.

Not allowed to but if I had to pick one I would buy a P90, disable the trigger mechanism and put it in a large display case somewhere in my room because its awesome. I mean ambidextrous bottom-discarding top loading plastic see-through magazine awesome.

I can't provide my own pictures since I don't have a camera, but here are a few pictures of what firearms I own that someone else took.
1. Remington 870 Pump 12 gauge shotgun Just bought it December 27th for $300, signed some paperwork and walked out with it same day.
2. .410 gauge side by side barrel shotgun Was given to me by my dad when I was 14
3. Savage Arms 20 gauge (circa 1960) shotgun Was passed down to me from my dad when I turned 16, it was my grandpa's old pheasant shotgun. Also please note the barrel in the picture (best one I could find) is a 20" deer barrel, mine is a 28" vented rib barrel (looks the same as the 12 gauge picture)
That's it so far! I'm only 19 so it's kind of hard to be able to buy guns and pay for college I have to wait until I get my career started before I can get a reloading bench and more guns, bah.
The next gun I'll be buying maybe by next summer will be a Remington 11-87 12 gauge auto loader. Can't wait! ---------------------------------------------

Not so mate, the firearms bans after Dumblane effectively banned semi-automatic center-fire (most pistols and large caliber rifles). We are still allowed semi-automatic .22 rim fire rifles and any gauge shotgun in semi auto - own 2 semi auto 12bores. Target pistols are still around but they are very difficult to get a license for and your not allowed to let anyone else use it/handle it or the ammunition.
On a firearms certificate in the UK you can own any caliber you want and have 'good reason' to own. Although all UK ranges are limited to a max of .577, so .50 BMG is still legal but obviously they don't get given to just anyone, and at nearly ú15 a shot for good match ammunition why would you want one lol.
The one thing we have got better than the US is that we are allowed separate detachable silencers/moderators for all calibers and types :D |

We're allowed all the separate detachable suppressors we like. One $200 tax stamp and a background check per piece. And I think once you get your BG check done you might not even have to repeat that for a few years. |

It's perceptions like this that really surprise me, but I guess the problem is that the only media that makes it to the internet is all of the weird or outrageous stuff.
When I went to my concealed carry class there were people of all races and ages there. Single women, old guys, young girls (21 anyway, the legal limit), boyfriends bringing their girlfriends, women bringing their husbands.
All responsible people. All concerned for their safety and determined to not be a victim. It's annoying that a firearms thread has sort of deteriorated into a second amendment thread/right to self defense thread, but whatever.
Most gun owners aren't some crazy right wing fanatic with a bomb shelter and a half ton of ammo socked away. They're moms and sisters and dads and grandfathers who are responsible citizens. I don't get why people worry about people who legally own firearms lol. It's the drug dealers they should be worried about.
But I digress. Quite frankly I'm surprised that so few Eve players own firearms. Particularly given that the largest subscription block of players are American.
