BIG will once again host betting for the Alliance tournament.
This time the 6th Alliance Championships (AT&)
The AT6 website is now live, and you can start making your bets!!!
So - What excactly do we offer?
We offer the standard "bet on the team you think will win overall", but also a range of other bet types
We even offer "late entry" bets, which is bets made *after* the tournament has started!
- Who will be the top 32 ranked after round 1 (early entry).
- Who will be the top 32 ranked after round 2 (early entry).
- Who will make it to the semifinals (early entry).
- Who will make it to the semifinals (late entry).
- Who will win the tournament (early entry).
- Who will win the tournament (late entry).
Bets have to be made before round 1 starts (2009.01.24 15:00)
Bets have to be made before round 2 starts (2009.02.07 15:00)
On the site you'll among other things find the "Bet Calculator", making it a bit easier to determine excactly what to put in the infobox when you transfer your ISK to "BIG Games".
Make sure to use it, if at all in doubt about what to enter in the infobox.
Updating of bets is done automatically via the EVE API, so the text entered needs to be spot on for the program to recognize it.
Any mistake and your bet will be treated as a BIG Lottery entry!
(and any amounts above the max for the BIG Lottery will be treated as a donation - Thank you very much!)
On the site you will also be able to see the bets already made!
Apart from the betting we naturally also supply the full schedule for the tournament (Currently the times are a guess, as the official list hasnt been psoted yet)
Lots of info there - And all in one place!

AT6 Betting site has been updated with the team names.
Sadly still no schedule - Should be due around friday though.

I may have misread this - but as you are not offering a proper "book" in that there are no odds on offer, there is no point me betting high amounts of isk
Say for example I bet 20 billion on being in the top 32 at the end of round one. Three other people bet on several other alliances to the tune of 10 million isk each.
At the end, when my alliance is in the top 32 and theirs is not - I win.... 30 million isk? Exaclty the same as I would have won if i had bet 1 million isk instead of 20 billion.
I must have read this incorrectly please clarify. |

You're assuming you're the only one getting it right.
The ISK of the "losers" are distributed among the "winners" based on how much ISK they (the winners) have bet.
So a winner betting twice as much as another winner, gets twice as much from the pool of "loser" ISK.

On your website it says "Who will be the top 32 ranked after round 1 (early entry)"
This would suggest the gamer would have to pick all 32 top ranked.
A slight change to something on the lines of "Who will be ranked in the top 32 after round 1 (early entry)." would clarify the bet.
Good luck with your venture, I wish you could have run a proper book as (although this would have taken more work) people would be much more comfortable betting for a know odds, then betting with the possibility of no return at all
i.(player risks money betting on a team that nobody disputes and therefore recieves no isk return)
or worse
ii.(player A bets 500million on a team which loses, only one player B had bet a paltry 1 million isk on the actual winning team and scoops the lot).
So player stood to win a share of only 1 mill and risked 500 million.
Even if one wins one is involved in a battle with the other winners over what percentage of the losers pot he gets.

Quick Question, If we place a bet on team #19 and they pull out and get replaced by another team, does our bet stay on whoever takes their place or is it lost?

This is worst organized betting from all BIG betting events. It clearly shows that hosts are doing it just for isks and not for others fun/pleasure. |

Any way to get confirmation my bets went in? I placed them yesterday prior to the deadline, with the correct comments in the reason field, yet nothing is showing up on "My Bets" and the totals haven't budged since the day before yesterday, which seems very unlikely.
