hello,
Cryptic has taken over the project from Interplay. Discuss, a real threat to CCP? Dont know about you but I hope this will force CCP to be a little more creative. |

Personally I hope STO is a huge success. Then all the "I just want to be left alone" types can go carebear it up there. |

Q: Will there be PvP, PvE and RP rule set servers? A: There will not be separate servers for PvP and PvE rulesets. Open PvP will be restricted to designated sectors of space (far-off reaches of unclaimed territory). Consensual PvP and competitive PvE will occur between the realm borders (the Neutral Zone), where players will be competing over territory and resources with the option to PvP.
Looks like EVE is still safe. |

I would be very happy with a good ST MMO, but this thing has been passed around so many times.. And,the screenshots, I mean if the game looks like Voyager:Elite force, you are doing something wrong. That game is 9 years old.
Eve is safe.

Sounds like 0.0 and empire, with no lo-sec, to me. |

Creative was letting your character train a new skill while unsubbed and give you something interesting to come back to after getting bored of the game. CCP don't have the same definition of creative as most people. :/ -- 99% of Eve-o posters should stop posting. This probably includes me, but definitely includes you. |

Has CCP been top dog or are you forgetting those other scifi MMOs, that just didn't have the staying power. Compared to SWG for example EVE was small fry in the beginning, but over time things have changed. Little competition is healthy, but lets not pretend CCP hasn't had competition before. |

I can't wait for it.
And "ALOT" is actually 2 words; "a" and "lot". What's so difficult to understand about that? And putting it in capitals is gold, Jerry. |

The graphics look really cartooney, looks like they lifted a lot from City of Heroes. All looks a bit too fluffy for my liking. |

It's missing a "non". Oh and got an extra "s". There's only one s in server.

I'm intrigued by STO and I'll probably trail it, but after the 3rd degree burns I received from AoC I doubt I'll be cancelling my EvE sub. Besides I think this year is going to be very interesting for EvE. |

Couldn't care less. Only thing that bores me more than Star Trek is Star Wars. That doesn't mean I won't sit and watch a marathon of ST:TNG if it's on, but I'm not going to play a game about it. Also, I guarantee they're not going after the same demographic. Do you really think you're going to be engaging in trade, manufacturing, espionage, pirating, etc? Most likely not. -- What's your EVE New Year's Resolution for 2009? |

From what I've seen of it's development they are still making the same crappy game that Perpetual was. "Everyone's the captain" type BS instead of the intense crew based exploration, problem solving, and such that makes Star Trek.
Basically it's WOW with phasers. I'll pass.
