I think the gallente destroyer is ugly and the caldari one looks nice :D
Lets all hope though that the gallente Battlecruiser has that wing on the other side too, or else...... wing heh maybe we should call it a spoiler instead ................. |

It looks like the Gallente and Amarr Battlecruisers (me wants) are likely asymmetrical, with a "wing" only on one side. But it's hard to tell from the pics. And, of course, there's the Gallente Destroyer.
The big question is why do the solar panels on the Minmatar ships overlap. That seems a tad wasteful to me.

Maybe they're not solar panels. Could be heat dispersal vanes or something.

That wouldnt work in space...
Those could be though LADAR arrays? Nah.. LADAR requires a line of sight inorder to work, at least current LADAR systems do. ................. |

RP Minmatar ships are built to fool the enemy into thinking it's just space debris.
Rest assured, our flying trashcans can deal and take just as much damage as any of your super cool OMGWTF designer over-rated and over-priced space caskets. /RP
As for that ship. I think it looks schweet. It'll be fun to turn it into a cargo can.

----------------sig---------------------------- Dtai'kai'-dte sa-de nau'gkon dtain'aun bpi-de.
if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are elements of pretty much every ship in the EVE universe that I like and dislike. Then again, I have a like for symmetry, but symmetry isn't a necessary design component for ships launched and piloted in space, is it?
Just appreciate the work and inspiration of the artist. I know it's one heck of a lot better than anything I could model. Then again, there is a ship in someone's (Joshua's?) sig that looks like it was done in MS Paint that is modeled better than I could do.

3D modelling frustrates the hell out of me, I always get these good ideas then when I try to put them into a model I end up with a zillion mesh errors, and after spending 6 hours tweaking vertices and rebuilding polys I just say **** it and start on something else =P
I must have a dozen unfinished ship models so far =/

no more therads about the aesthetics of ship models PLEASE!
it's all entirely subjective, and nobody can be 'right'
but then, i like the look of the dominix... |

It is. At least when it comes to main engine(s) placement IRL. Caldari ships, for instance, would suffer greatly from asymmetrical thrust.

Not if you stagger the power coming from some of the engines ;) You could have one big engine on one side and 4 smaller ones on the other.

ships look gooood, but the battlecruisers description
Quote: The design for battlecruisers was for them to be the needed mini-battleships, hard as hell and can deal above average cruiser damage, they are for offensive actions but not ôtarget me and kill me in 5 secs or you will die in these 5ö, but more like ôif you want me to stop dealing this good damage on you, you would have to focus 100% on killing me you big mean battleship pilot, cuz im almost as big as youö.
Common Devs you can do better than that. Sounds like a 12 year old speaking there
