the minmatar destroyer looks ok but the freakin battlecruiser looks almost the same and that sux big time. and yeah the caldari destoryer is ugly too especially if u noticed theres a wing on the left side but not on the right, wouldnt be that bad when the ship was asymetric all the way but it doesnt from the middle to the front.. oh and what an ugly front it has. somebody get that pinneedle idea out of the designers head messed up slashers front and the tempests... making ships look like ants or roaches.
Mess with the best.. ..and die like the rest |

Edited by: JoCool on 30/07/2004 14:38:41 I like everything but the front of the Caldarian destroyer, it needs some things added there or it would be nicknamed breadbox. Some more, small antennas perhaps? Or some kind of bridge

Sage words for all the armchair modelers.
All the new ships look great IMHO...as far as I'm concerned, it's just nice to see new models coming into the game.
Keep up the great work CCP.

Edited by: Harry Voyager on 01/08/2004 04:41:23 I've been playing this game waaayyyy to much lately. I just clicked and dragged on that immage to see the ship from a different angle.
The Caldari destroyer has a sort of landing craft nose to it to my eyes. It looks perfect for a boarding vessel, but it does look a bit odd for a destroyer.
Perhapse if the nose did have a more sensor array look to it, it would look a bit better? Say, a seet on antenna protruding from the front panels, ala the Probe? Just something to break up the flatness a bit.
Harry Voyager
Addendum: Radiators do actually work in space, and are rather essential for systems that generate large amounts of heat. From what I understand, the NASA Space Shuttle's bay doors are completely covered by large radiating systems. From the placement of the Minmatar Battlesruiser's fins, I would guess that it what they'd have to be, at least from an RP standpoint. The real reason they're there is just because they look cool.
From what I can tell, the Mini BC has a very Stabberish look to it. but without views from the front, it's hard to tell.
Any noises on what sort of stats these things are goign to have? Grid, CPU, mass?

i mean seriously, wtf, its just not up to the standard of all the other ships. am i alone in this opinion? it looks like my sister could model this.
It looks like an industrial garbage hauler!
Now that you say it, :p Personally I labelled it as a bus. Kinda looks how I'd imagine an industrial mining ship.
But definitely not like a fast, sleek, and dangerous destroyer.

I like the model...
Only gallentean destroyer model is very odd and remind me the B-Wing design...
Hehe, my first thought as well.
Personalyl I think the Amarr, Minmatar and Gallente destroyer looks neat. And the Amarr battlecruiser is neat as well.
And the Gallente Battlecruiser, hehehe.. :P Kinda like one of them potatoshaped dominix velator offspring, with bubbles sprouting all about. Maybe it is supposed to ressemble an amoeba during cell seperation.

Amarr destroyer: Great design! Amarr battlecruiser: Err? Its a bit special.. But it still seems somewhat symmetrical..
Mim destroyer: Great! Mim battlecruiser: Great.
Caldari destroyer: Looks like someone did run out of ideas and just made something really fast.. We can just hope its becuase of the angle it looks like something from a bad and cheap space movie. Caldari battlecruiser: N/A
Gallente destroyer: Thats not really a bad design.. Gallente battlecruiser: I really REALLY hope its just a very VERY bad angle, but right now its damn ugle! I was hopeing for something that looked more like the thorax, but without that big "thing" it has under it.. Right now the Thorax is the best looking gallente ship (even though that thing ruins it a bit.).. With the megathron/vexor after it..
Could we maybe get a few bigger images from differnt angles? After all we are going to use the ships, so aint it best its something most of us like? ------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

uhm, someone didn't pay attention during astrophysics class, did they? you could have a giant box, put one thruster in a corner, and it would still fly straight. ah, the joys of zero-g.
