I don't know if you're aware of this basic fact, but a structure to build a titan needs to be bigger than a titan.

Wow... LOVED the story. This is getting really interesting now.
Umm, just wondering; I saw that weapon in action on the trailer, anyone happen to know what exactly it is? Heard the Empyrean age novel describes it in more detail but not managed to get hold of that yet.

For the first time in a while, I'm dissapointed. I saw the last two chronicles evolving into a great chase, with the sisters of eve searching, the blood raiders trying to hunt them, and the Thukkers trying to kill the blood raiders, and discovering the superweapon at the same time the sisters did.
Instead, we get some irrational movements, collosally bad decisions, and throwing the possibilty of a great set of space-western styled cronicles out the window.
However, it's nice to know how Jamyl Sarum wtfpwned the Elder fleet. I wonder if the giant super-structure has anything to do with the code aria report. it would be cool if that all got tied in together. |

Knowing that when anyone would find the thing on a drone construct would stir up human forces to take it out so they cloaked it. Now there are some people finding it though and things will turn messy. Next will be a Thukker/Blood Raider alliance trying to take the thing out and get blasted to hell (and back and there again for good measure).
Alternatively, Jamyl used her 'upgraded communicative abilities' to either control the drones she got the Isogen-5 from or struck a deal with them for some equal return. Might even have been the trading the gun for the bullets. Whatever it was the drones are providing her with the Isogen-5 she needs.
MOAR !
People seem to be forgetting one thing.. The Blood Raider's in the "Half a Life" Story were redirected from finishing the disgusting task they do by high command to follow the SOE ship, so Amarr knows the Abaddon is there, for I am sure if the drones accidentally stumbled upon the Abaddon and captured it, the captian would have used the weapon on the drones. I am thinking the Rogue Drones are probably working with the Amarr, and they keep the ship there cloaked so it cannot be detected anywhere in Empire space. And also, they were being shadowed by a Thukkar Tribe ship, so Minmatar will most likely know about this now. Another thing I don't know if anyone has picked up on, as with the Empyrean Age video, I noticed that weapon at the end right away and was like wtf... There is another perhaps hint in the last video released at the very end. During the battle with Gallente, a small black hole or fisher of some sort opens up beside the Gallente Titan... So it looks like Either Gallente have obtained/developed a new superweapon "possibly with the help of Jove, since Jove likes Gallente the most, and SOE is a branched faction of them... Or, that black hole is a weapon being launched against the Titan, but I vote its Gallente's new weapon. |

I may be wrong, but I do recal in a chronicle or short story I read a long time ago.... Jove did introduce pod technology to Caldari first... But there was a huge battle between Amarr and Jove, I thought I remember hearing that Caldari aided Amarr.. Going to see if I can find it again

Ah, dear.
Rogue Drones harvest what from a sun? Unlikely. Droney droney melty. Just because CCP is too lazy to fix the clipping so that we can fly inside suns doesn't mean they can get away with this kind of stuff.
The density of this rogue drone superstructure, being larger than stars, as described, would create a gravity well that would act similar to a black hole, or a supermassive star, dragging everything around it toward it. Thus drones, SoE ships etc would not be able to function nearby.
Depending on density, the star would collapse under its own gravity and create lovely Mr Black hole.
It would either pull the sun into it, or vice versa? Considering the drones built it, they likly build it orbiting the sun, yet as its size grows they cannot move it into a different position.
Good read, too many holes though.
Also the plot line sucks. |

there were mining Isogen-5 that was being emitted from the star... I don't think they were actually harvesting the star... And what they mean by the eclipsing thing, is at the range the ship was parked at, it filled their view screen blocking out the stars |

typo; para 49 "It is the leverage we need to bring the Empires to hell, ... "
should be "It is the leverage we need to bring the Empires to heel, ..."
Apart from that, the motive is frankly naive, simplistic and not terribly believable.
Finding the giant drone hive, cool, dropping in the magic 'superweapon' and planning to use it to control the "murderous capsuleers" is just silly. Spoiled the atmosphere for me really.

it is more thank likely that isogen - 5 will be the moon mining material that will be available in the wormholes as CCP have said there will be able to put POS up int he wormholes so this does excite me, god know why i have industrial work but it will enjoy the isk counting machine if you pop a tower down on one of thoses.
also there is a lot mroe rouge drone activity going around which make me believe that they are linked with the worm hole but how i can not tell yet , they could be doing this as a selfless act upon themselves as they did continue making the vitoc for nothing. i mean what does a rouge drone do when it has not been givin a task ?
also if the rouge drones are apart of the wormholes would it be sure to say that the drone regions will have some intresting times ahead and that being all blue to each other they might be able to harvest this new moon minerals much more effectivly that most other people?
just a few question that are throwing around in my mind |

Edited by: Pac SubCom on 03/02/2009 02:04:16 - The drone hive is a resource gathering operation.
- The drones are only tools of whoever manipulates Sarum. Not all drones, just these.
- This party is probably the Sleepers in one form or another (doesn't necessarily mean it's the Sleepers as a whole, maybe just a faction etc).
- Sarum (unconsciously?) is an agent of the Sleepers. She now happens to be the most powerful woman in the cluster.
- The Sleepers are already present in k.space. (I heard the novel featured some kind of "unknown spaceman" found somewhere).
- The Thukkers have a secret: Where do they hide their great caravans? How do they get around? In w.space. Through wormholes.
- The Sleepers are the Minmatar-ancients. Why Sleepers, and not the others? Thukkers are also a Minmatar faction (or are Minmatar a Thukker faction? The truth is out there...)
- The "Elders" attack/War In Heaven: A bid to stop Sarum coming to power? If so, it failed - Sarum and her handlers managed to acquire/build the Isogen-5 superweapon and it destroyed the elder invasion. This does not seem to be a war between the Amarr empire and the Minmatar Republic at all.
- Minmatar and Thukker forces and their standoff with Concord in Yulai: Is Concord involved?

That doesn't quite fit imo... (was "out of character" imo)
Ruined it a bit for me :/
Wish another reason for them wanting/needing/having to take control of the ship/weapon could have been used.
But apart from that little niggle - Good stuff! (as usual)
Aye, I enjoyed the chronicle but was a little dissapointed with the outcome.
It makes no sense that, being the only sisters who know of this location and the new source of isogen-5 (well thats how it seems), that they'd risk it all just to get the super-weapon.
U'd think that, if they really did want to grab the weapon, that they'd simply go to the star and take a sample back home. At which point they would not mention the drone hive, waiting for a later date to come back and investigate (Yes I'm aware that this risks never seeing the abaddon again, but it would have faired them much better lol). |

They were able to identify a cloaked ship with their sensors. And they wanted to send out Probes to investigate the cloaked ship even further.
Perhaps with the exploration changes, there will finally be some resolution of finding Cloaks?
Other than that... awesome story!

Originally by: YunFu Yan I am very unhappy with this chronicle.
It seems way too forced and unlogical.
It feels silly and unrealistic that anyone would believe negotiation with rogue drones is possible, especially when their aggressive nature has proven itself so often already.
It might be reasonable that the Terran superweapon ruptured the fabric of time and space and thereby is the cause of the anomalies.
However, why would Sarum park it right next to the hive and source of Isogen-5? If the factions intel services are worth only a fraction of their budgets they would have shaded the Abbadon permanently. Sarum would have faced a serious risk of giving away the source of her power by moving the ship back to that hive.
Now one could argue that it doesn't matter because the superweapon could just kill anything in it's path anyways. But with he Isogen-5 being described as so extremly voilatile any serious ship to ship combat in the vincinity of the hive would be bear the chance of it's destruction, rendering the superweapon useless once it's cache of Isogen-5 is used up.
Now why would Sarum risk this?
This guy pretty much voiced my concerns. This cronicle didn't make sense. |
