I know there has been previous debate on the 'real' impact of becoming coprse-ified..
An Idea for a further tweak to the 'corpsification' process:
When killed; have all of your BookMarks lost. (RolePlay: the clone process doesn't back these up).
Note: You can still make 'backups' of your bookmarks at stations (using click, drag, etc).. by having you lose bookmarks, it makes you less strategically valuable 'quickly'. Yet losing bookmarks, is not as catastropic as losing your skill points.
Obviously, if you didn't make 'backups' of your BM's, then you may not be happy...
This proposed change would also temper the complains gatecampers have with 'instabookmarks' somewhat... and maybe strike a little better balance between all parties. (i.e. It now be *possible* to send existing BM's to /dev/null).
Flame on.

I say triple the prices of high lvl clones. Or better yet make them so that you have to provide some type of component, or something. Biomass maybe? Maybe them accessible at fewer stations? All in all make it so that when you do combat it's a risk involved.
At this point with insurance, clone cost, and turrent balancing. Chances are you will rarely loss your pod anyway. 2005.01.21 05:09:06combatYour Tachyon Beam Laser I perfectly strikes Blood Priest, wrecking for 533.1 damage. |

i'd rather loose sp's or implants over my bookmarks..as there are too many, and not all are instajumps/instadocks
edit: i like the idea of making clones cost more. As if you have higher sp's it means you should be making oodles more isk. As of now, a 12M sp clone at only 2M isk is pennies.

why is it that this bugs people? There are other issues to debate that are more important then the simple misspelling of one word.

I agree. I get annoyed with games that make death a slap on the wrist. It should be a kick to the nuts.

omfg. I wonder how people get an N into turret as well. an it seriously ****es me off.
I'm not sure why it annoys me so much, but it does.
and theres REALLY no excuse or reason for it... it couldn't qualify as a typo, really, since "Turret" has only one letter on the right hand, and its on the top half of the keyboard. "turret" doesn't SOUND like there might be an N in it...
is there somewhere where people call turrets turrents? I'd really like to figure out WHY SO many people make this misspelling. it is totally nonsensical.
now about this issue... I could imagine that more expensive clones, or something like that, might work, but things like losing BM's.... nah.
possibly some sort of thing where if you don't allow enough time between ordering a new clone, and using it, there be some sort of issue, like temporarily having some of the advanced skills being unusable for a bit, not like losing SP, but more like... temporarily disabling them, or something, since the clone wasn't fully mature when it was needed... or some crap like that.

methinks this is a game to have fun, why add boring timesinks ?
i wonder if a hardware extension thingy which provides you with electroshocks when your ship gets hit would sell good
... on a sidenote, would 'current' be a valid alternative for the typo or did i just miss the joke ? ...

Pods are too hard to lock down.
It's not helped by the ridiculous waiting period from lock completion to target reticule appearing on screen.

There already is a pretty serious penalty for getting podded. They're called implants. About 80mil for the four basic ones is the average price around give or take.
Hell in most cases it's more than the ship loss.
As Raynor once said: What's next you get killed and they reformat your harddrive?
