Why has eve fallen so far?

The Cursed Excrutiating Dirge	Posted - 2009.02.04 20:28:00 - [1] I decided to write a small post here just to vent a little about how much i feel this game has fallen from grace. I started playing this game alittle after beta and enjoyed it with all my heart. The solo pvp and small group pvp which made this game awsome and the simple things such as mining and ratting. Then came along POS, blob warfare, t1,t2,t40000BP and nerfs of everything that made this game great. I feel now that game has just flatout flopped. It has to many shiny bells and to many bugs. God the buggz are everywhere and in every part of the game. When it comes to lag, ship readouts, the gate issues and did i mention the lag thats is in every part of the game. I recently decided to start playing again and found out that CCP has completed killed the art of solo pvp. I think they want mass blob warfare to cause so much lag that the game will just blow up and they can rid themselves of this horrible creation they have made. But the thing that really killed me was the arrangment of large scale fight by asking for more lag free stuff. I cant remeber the name of it atm. It like eve has turned into professinal sport and we need tv time to just fight. This is just sad. So i' ve decided that i will selling all of my toons(not on ebay for cash you ccp s****that like to ban everyone). This game just plan suck. Beer em Good!!!!!!

So now they only will engage your 20 with 34, and when you goto 40, they goto 90, etc etc etc.. The lag... well what do you expect when they try to cram 45,000 people into something designed for about 2/3's of that?

Either way, you shouldn't be making this much noise.

And they COULD bring Blobs back then too. Just the blobs were harder to do because there were only like 1500 people on the server. So a "Blob" back then was 10 people. You still see Solo PVP. It's just rare, because any "small" alliance can get 50 people together to defend their space in minutes. That's the INTENTION. They're DEFENDING. We arn't dualing. We're DEFENDING/ATTACKING peoples space. Hell, try going to CVA Space as a "pirate". They have one of the fastest response time's I've seen to hostiles in local. I do small gang pvp each night. 4-7 of us. It's harder. It takes more patience. It takes more Practice. It takes more skill. Solo PVP can be had. But it's Rare. Who wants to solo when you can hunt with a small group of friends. What's the point of killing someone solo? EPeen? Killboards? The FUN in this game is doing things with friends. Find some friends, and do things with them. that's what MMO's are all about. Without the friends, it's just a boreing game. Just like all other MMO's. It's the friendships that make it fun.

Todays player base would be bored to death with Early EVE. Only 4 ship types (frig, cruiser, bs and indu). No T2. Primitive and less varied missions. No Moon materials. 0.0 was only for ratting and mining - and only a very few did either. No aggression timer against logoffski. Severe balancing bugs. A lot of the fabled great small gang pvp consisted of the likes of Mo0 (et al) finding broken mod combo and ganking hapless victims. The corps and alliances of the time already blobbed as well as they could (the logic behind blobbing is universal and not a new phenomenon). There were just less people around - so a big blob at that time was rarely bigger than 20 - 30 pilots. Enough to cause serious lag though. If EVE hadn't expanded and become richer it would have died 3 years ago. OP is confused and doesn't understand that his feared nerfs were actually much needed design fixes. There have been so many nerf whine threads over the years - and 97.3% turned out to be utterly wrong about EVE dying or particular ships and/or mods not being used anymore. Todays players would be surprised about what players at the time whined about. Take a break - get bored in WoW (or other pseudo-MMO of your choice).
