Many things in eve do not work "as intended" (lololol) or something. Also many things that have had many opportunities to be recognized and fixed are not. My favorite part has always been the things that are fixed and then unfixed by subsequent patches (CM/QA 4tw!!!!!!)
Some of the things that I thought of in the last few days, how Stain Alliance (before IGAs) had a corp called Stain Alliance. I think it was actually created in preparation for IGAs, or at least gearing up for what they were intended to be, but then when they became available that kinda caused some difficulty, ultimately resulting in the perception that TRIGGER couldn't spell.  Ofc now everyone knows you can't have an alliance named the same as a corp, although as referenced in other threads that wasn't a problem for BoB. Just petition it right? Everyone else could have done the same thing ofc....
So that's 4 years old. I'm not sure when the first time someone failed to pay their bill and their alliance was erased was, but I'd guess it's at least 3 years ago. Another point made from another thread, kinda baffling how it is harder to release bpos than to delete an alliance.
Anyway sorry to derail.

The database hasn't been right for years.

leave, kicked, switch, joined ... man CCP is subtle in their descriptions.

seems like an inauspicious start for a new alliance reputationwise really , but obviously not TAFKAB's fault that sov mechanics are buggy and dumb

The 7days to take sov only counts when there is an alliance that has sov of that space... your forgetting the one thing Goon can be proud of is they deleted the alliance. So logic dictates that no Alliance having sov means there would be no wait.

it has been this way for a long time when i was with the rule of three alliance my corp plus 2 others split and made a new alliance, the following dt we had sov lvl 1 that was over a year ago. |

This is always how it has worked, the sov claim is based upon days the tower has been anchored, not how long you have been in an alliance. I've been in another alliance as a corp changed into our alliance and their existing sov flipped instantly.
The knowledge base articles are often wrong, and to paraphrase CCP, they don't write their own knowledge base articles, volunteer ISD did, and they're just as frequently wrong as other players, just less often corrected.
