I am thinking about training the HAC Skill to 5, since i have Minmie and Amarr Cruiser on 5.
Do you think the HACS getting a bit meh after the next expansion and the new, shiny T3 Cruisers?
Any advice yould be nice. Thanks alot! :-) |

t3 shall be expensive.
So yes, its what ive nearly finished
the t3 ships will not be the typical mass roaming gangs i doubt, more like a faction ship in a gang. rare. usefull but not majorly improved |

Do you use HACs enough to justify training it to Lv5? Personally, I did at the time, so I trained it to 5.
The other thing is, it'll take you around a month to train? In that time, T3 will only just have been released, so it'll be at least another month, maybe even 2 or 3 till the parts are readily available and drop to any sort of reasonable price... During that time, you'll be flying around in your HAC, getting the most performance available from it.
Plus, who knows what skills will be required to pilot T3. Since they're Cruiser Hulls (or so I read), maybe HAC 5 will be a requirememt?
In short... If you're gonna make good use of it, I would. |

you should also train logistics to 5, recon to 5... err... yea. I dont think that those will be needed. |

HAC 5, Recon 5, Command ships 5 all give very good bang for the buck. If you use the ships often, it's VERY worthwhile for training.
Keep in mind however the slowly rising prices of HAC's and keep that in mind when deciding whether or not your wallet can afford this as well. |

Edited by: Merin Ryskin on 07/02/2009 01:41:41 Speculation is bad. We have no clue what T3 stats are going to be, they could cost anywhere from cheaper than frigates from day one, to more expensive than a capital on release, down to "only" a billion ISK six months later. They could be solo pwnmobiles that make HACs look like a BattleBadger, or they could be a complete joke that joins your un-loved Ashimmus and Navy Ospreys in some dark, dusty corner of your hangar. The skills could be anything from {Racial} Cruiser I, all the way up to {Racial} Cruiser V, {Racial} Starship Engineering V, {Racial} Cruiser Construction V, Recon V, HAC V, Logistics V, and a few more just to keep all the newbies out.
So forget about T3: if you like HACs, train HAC V. If you have something better for those SP, put them there instead. -----------

Recon 5 is worth it.
HAC 5 is nice depending on the race.
CS 5 was a waste of time unless you like being afk at pos' and have 3 months of leadership skills trained.
But in all honesty, the reason not to train hac to 5 should not be t3, but because you have better things to train. -----------

I am going to agree with this. I am very much considering hac 5 myself.

That and they have stated that t3 will not be better than t2 in every way, it will be different and more customizable, but not better. |

Recon 5 and cov ops 5 seem almost mandatory to me. It's the only damn way to fit them properly. As for T3 prereqs I don't think you will need a T2 ship skill at level 5 but only racial cruiser and a few other oddball low rank skills at 5 to get access to the type you want to use. |

HACs might well get cheaper, but are unlikely to get 'worse'. HAC5 isn't a particularly bad idea - I'm still considering it - but I'm going to wait and see what the T3 cruiser skill reqs actually are, and in the meantime fill in support skills. -- 249km locking? |

Just so - I've got a few racial cruisers at 5, and HAC5 seems to be quite juicy. 250km Cerberus is an idea I find appealing. -- 249km locking? |

Some hacs suck after the patch but then those kinda sucked before it as well, nut hac3, recon5 ect are always worth training.

Edit: Seeing as testing on sisi is starting on monday, why not simply wait afew days? |

There is no rush to train it if T3 is what you aim for. patch will be put up on test server next week so we get an idea of what is required.
Even then, materials and bpcs will all come from wormholes so it will be a while before any T3 makes it to market .. time is the least of your worries, get cash, it will be pricey

I have held off on training HAC 5 because I also fly recons, logistics, hics, dictors, afs, and intys and HAC 5 does not benefit any of those ship classes. Though I am not at the point where I have so much trained up that i'll probably soon train HAC V. Though, if the T3 introduces a lot of new skills then I will probably hold off on HAC V even longer.
