Quote: Do you hate transcom caldari of your very own corp.? He used this exact same trick when we trapped his Thorax the other day.
I think it's absolutely silly for people to b!tch about this either way...
Don't tell me it's not "honerable" to log off, you know damn well almost anyone involed in PvP has used, and will use poor game mechanics at some point in thier EVE career to save thier ass...
Get over it people!
The people b!thing about this are probably the same bastards who were gate & JIP camping each and every day untill CCP fixed the problem...
Honerable my ass!
Note: I've never logged to avoid destruction, I've always escaped without using this tactic. I'm not a supporter of this tactic. Just can't take the hypocracy any more... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Logging is lame, no matter which way you look at it.
It's abusing a game bug to save some pixels on a screen; what could possibly be lamer?

You're quite right, but I veiwed JIP & Empire gate camping in the same light...
We have to believe CCP will fix it. You guys can't rely on "honerable" players to fix this problem on thier own...
Some players will use the borked game mechanics to thier advantage no matter how lame it is...
Making a video and smacking the guy with hate is just as lame as logging IMO...

We have seen this so many times. We petition every player using it - espicially the exploit which make your ship disapear within 20-30 seconds. GMs say solution is on the way. Ships will stay 3 minutes and it wont help if you log before jumping or loggin alt-character...
Lets hope they do it fast, since this is on of the most anoying EVE-features. 2 of 3 combats end this way and CCP is not able to make a sticky topic and make players using this understand that they use an exploit. In the end all players will suffer because if they really have an CTD - they will stay 3 minutes soon...
I say: post all names of loggers here, hurts much more than a GM-warning - uuuh.

Edited by: kurg on 04/08/2004 15:08:23 Ive suggested this before:
Your ship should only disappear 15 minutes after the last _PC_ hostile action.
So if you get offlined NPC'ing you would still warp away (unless scrambled), your modules should keep running (if set on auto) until no cap/ammo is left (or the timer is up).
15 minutes would take the top off the lets log to save our ass tactics.
even the paranoid has real enemies...

Do you hate transcom caldari of your very own corp.? He used this exact same trick when we trapped his Thorax the other day.
Is that so? Had no idea about this...
I will speak to him and make sure it won't happen again. We do not tolerate that kind of behaviour in North Star Networks!

Oh, and great vid! Nice to see that you managed doing something funny of an event that is just so frustrating!

Edited by: Miz Cenuij on 05/08/2004 04:04:57 OMG thats a great video, really well made, pure quality.
No matter how good your video editing skills are though, your pvp has some what left to be desired (didnt you see his name vanish from local, obviously not or you woudnt have wasted time on that ammo change).
Placing that aside for one moment, the guy used a pretty well known "loophole" and it appears he timed it bloody well!
You need to accept that most people will not willingly loose a 65 mill ship plus mods and possibly implants after that for the sake of honour.
This is 2004, not 1504. Honour is dead, long live the exploiters !
