Okay, so at the 2nd wave, there's 5-6 cruisers/frigates jamming me constantly. I've tried putting in two ECCMs, but there are 5-6 of them jamming me at once, constantly. I can't lock anything. How are you supposed to do this mission???
Litterally, I warp in, and 5-6 of them jam me. permanently. As soon as their jam ends, they jam again and I don't have time to even lock them. What am I missing here???

ECM sucks. Rats cheat, ECCM doesn't change their jam chances. Use drones, maybe some sensor boosters.

NPC jamming doesn't work like player jamming. The NPC has a flat chance to jam; your sensor strength doesn't matter in that chance. What I have heard is that changing your sensor strength instantly breaks the jam and forces them to try again, so you might try waiting until you get jammed to activate the ECCM, then turn it right back off.
What ship are you using? Guristas suck to fight against just for this reason, and with that many of them there I can see this happening. I'd think about trying FoF missiles if you're in a missile boat or drones if you can field a lot of them. If you can get them targeted before you get jammed they'll continue operating on their own, you just won't be able to specify which target they go after. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

I just gave up the mission and lost the 3% standing.
I'm in a navy mega. Takes them less time to jam me than it does for me to lock them. It's a serpentis mission. I've tried the lock and sick drones method, and it worked but after 30 minutes of drones attacking random targets (1 or 2 drones on each ship), I clearly realized I wasn't going to break their tanks. - It's those patroller buggers ...HACs with lots of resists.
If there's no way to counter NPC ECCM, this is a serious game mechanic flaw. My navy mega has 80% resists and 550dps tank and I was just barely able to perma tank this 2nd wave that aggroed as soon as they spawned... (3 frigs, 11 cruisers, 5-6 battleships and a few other random ships I don't remember), so don't think using a smaller ship to get faster lock time would be an option.
Should be a warning in the mission details or something. Very disapointed with this. I like challenges but this is not a challenge, just a sneakly dirty NPC trick.

Have you tried looking at the mission runners database? It's a very easy and lucrative mission if you do it correctly. Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

Maybe you just got unlucky. I've done that mission plenty of times with a CNR with less DPS and less tank. It takes a little while, but as long as I kill the trigger last and wait out the jam, its doable.
Though I totally agree that the way NPC's jam is ridiculous in the fact that you have no countermeasures available to stop/stem it.

Your ship should not be jammed, but dampened, if they are serpentis. Personally, I use drones, which work wonders. But then again, I also use a Domi :P

Yes, and I've actually ran and completed this mission several times before! It just happened I was never constantly damped by SIX NPCs at the same time....

Well, you can fit as many ECCMs as you want but it provides no benefit when being sensor dampened... What you want is a Sensor Booster. Though I can't say if that's gonna provide much help if 6 ships are dampening ya.

Damps are different than jammers. If they jam you, there's only a chance of it working. However, if it does work, you have 20 seconds where you cannot lock any targets. Damping isn't random, it works automatically, but all it does is cut down on your locking range. Make sure your overview is wide enough to see the icon so you know which ship(s) is doing the ewar, and target them first.
The eve-survival guides should tell you which types of foes usually jam/damp/scramble, so make those your first priority in killing. They don't automatically activate ewar on you, it's a random determination of attack type, so it sounds like you got very unlucky with all of them deciding to do it at once. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

They aren't jamming you, they are damping you. Just close range on them and you will get a lock.

Guri's do jam, you just need to have a good tank and out wait them, or warp out and come back.

If your drones aren't doing the job, take a friend with you. They will only jam one of you. ( usually).

I was running the L2 version of The Blockade (Guristas) the other day. Same layout with of course lower DPS all around. Knowing the jammers were coming, I engaged the first groups on one side of the area and BM'ed one of the wrecks. I then worked my way to the other side of the area and awaited the jammer heavy spawn.
They warp in and I primaried the jammers. I dented 1-2 jammers and then they all began cycling jamming on me as I kited them away. I then warped out and warped right back in to the BM, which was now behind them. I then rapidly targeted and dropped the jammers, unleashed my lil friends and the rest was a kill fest.
That tactic should work for you big boys as well.

I have found sensor boosters running range scripts, and signal boosters help against sensor damping.
I have done this mission, I note they are trying to damp my sensors, keep my lock and let the drones loose on them. Every Plan lasts until the first shot is fired. "I have a Plan, a good one." Generally means it is not. If Yellow it get a Fellow Killed |

I used to struggle with this too. However I changed tactics to the following- drones to aggressive, fly toward the jamming group that doesn't have the BSs. Let loose the drones and they should engage the group you are heading for. Keep targetting these guys and you might get a lock for a few seconds if you do unleash everything you can (weapon grouping is your friend). Don't bother with sensor boost imho add another gank mod instead. Keeping moving away from the BSs until the jammers are gone. It is worth doing this mission for the 20mill bounties alone.
Good luck

If it's the Serpentis-type of Blockade, you're not jammed - you're damped. Apart from wasting valuable slots, ECCM's won't do anything for you - you'ld need sensorboosters to counter the damps. Personally, I wouldn't bother with using them.
Assuming you're not mixing up Gurista's and Serpentis: the dampening ships always spawn at the same location (based from the merchant gate). Move towards a separate spawngroup prior to popping the trigger, and you should (almost) be in range to start locking the dampeners. If things get too hot, you can warp withing the mission area, as it isn't a deadspace. Train supportskills to enhance both locking range and scan resolution (for faster locking). Alternatively, get support from a corpmate / friendly, and laugh as one of you gets damped while the other one can easily shoot each rat.

Use F.o.F. missiles along with your drones. They will pop fast.

there are four or five ships that dampen you in the left hand group. if you attack this group first it will activate it and the deampeners, you effectivley get attacked by about 5-6 ships, nothing you cant handle......
you have two choices, you either launch your drones and let them do your job or let them all get real close and take the time to lock and shoot them when the dampening is off...alternatively get a friend to help.
this is a very lucative mission adn can easily be farmed for lots of iskies and salvage |

How do you farm this for salvage since the objective is met when you destroy all ships? Do you just destroy every ship except a single "objective trigger" ship and then salvage under fire? or is there some way to not get the objective and still destroy all ships?
I can understand farming this for lost of isk, but I am having trouble figuring how your going to salvage this unless you have a hurricane or some other BC fit for salvaging. |

Uhm, you can clear the entire mission, and simply get a salvaged fitted ship, warp in and salvage. Or, you can bookmark a wreck, turn in mission - come back in salvager. |

If your medium drones can't handle the jamming cruisers (Corelii Watchmen & safeguards from memory) then you need better drone skills.
If you can't lock them quick enough between cycles you need better electronics skills.
Whilst it's frustrating you should have time between the cycles to lock one or two of them, force-fire your drones onto them and wait for them to deal with it.

Uhm ... this isn't farming the mission. Of course you can salvage the mission when you are done, but if you clear the entire mission then after the next downtime the mission is completed and despawns.
Or does Lvl 4 Blockade act differently then other missions and stick around until you turn it in?

Not really. Once you get the "Objective complete" it won't respawn after the next downtime. However, since it's all one area, the usual technique of farming it won't work. You'd probably have to kill up to wave 3 and leave the trigger ship alone, then loot/salvage while the trigger ship is still shooting at you. Wave 4 typically has a group of ships, any one of which randomly is the trigger, and wave 5 has a random trigger for the objective, so it's hard to tell those.
My version of farming it is to kill every ship for the bounty, then fully loot and salvage it. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |
