There is a new build available. Would you like to download it now? The build is 732.4 MB in size.
after downloading this (seems to be a 704 KB patch and not 732 MB as it says), a window come in and tell me the files are corrupted, it's like i get this error 3/4 the times i download patches (thx ccp btw) well, would like to know if someone else is getting this and if this is a bug from ccp or my (our?) computer(s)

The 704k file is an installer, not the patch itself:

Wierd, took me like 30 mins for the 704KB patch to download the new content, and update the game for me... guess I was lucky.

Delete old Test server install. Install fresh, patch to Live, then alter shortcut to connect to test.
It'll download a small 700k file, which as stated above is a patch utility. That will download the new patch, and patch your client.

I have patched successfully, but cannot login - getting the 'could not connect to specified address' message and server status is unknown so looks like it's not running yet anyway.

This nonsense confirms my belief that apocrypha should not be on sisi until the patch installs as one would expect a commercial product to install? ...or is that too much to expect from CCP? |

Sooo, your whining about NOT being able to patch because the patch system they are using is brand new and subject to bugs self?
Srsly, download the patch in the apocrypha thread stickied above, and your good to go... |

If that is the case, sisi should be an 'invitation only' server...until it is, I regard it as part of the commercial offering from CCP.

Doesn't matter what you regard it to be, it's a testing server and CCP can do what they like with it.

I can see how the part where it says "Sever: Test Server (Singularity)" is both confusing and misleading.

only works if you have the BITS service in windows enabled (I don't). I wonder what the linux/wine folks will do if CCP realy utilizes BITS for all future updates. they discontinued linux support and now make the remaining options hard to maintain :-(( |

Yes...calling sisi a 'test server' is both confusing and misleading...I particularly enjoy the 'five balls floating in space' that are the placeholder for the amarr T3 ship.

This IS the test server, so deal with the issues.

But offcourse
But seriously, the new patch system is awesome. It's just that CCP forgets that they have to hash check the 200kb file instead of the huge 700mb file. That's why it's failing atm. _

Well it that case lets consider SiSi to be a invitation only server. If you can figure out how to patch it, you're invited! So for now you're not invited so GTFO.

I'm sorry, I don't recall having trouble patching on TQ, the only commercial server.
Sisi is supposed to be buggy, incomplete, and whatever else. If sisi was perfect, well then the patch would be ready to be deployed to TQ and it wouldn't need to be there anymore. Therefore, most of the content on sisi should still have some issues to be resolved, because as soon as it doesn't, they might as well take sisi down and deploy the patch to TQ.
The notion that the test server should always work fine is completely ridiculous, because if it did, there would be no point to it. The problem isn't the test server, the problem is you.

"Test Server".... it's a "Test server" ffs. Bug report your problems or go play on TQ, which is the main or "commercial server". Help fix it, and quit whining.

Fixed. Also the test server is for testing new content for bugs, not testing settups for use on TQ. So as soon as you get over the mentality that SiSi should be playable you will get along aot easier with the people whoalready understand this. ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Its not CCP who is confusing, its you. Its an offer by CCP to let their costumers test addons before release and its clearly stated in the license-agreement that you pay for using the client and being able to log in onto the live server and not on the testserver.
Either way, if you regret to accept that the testserver is an offer by CCP, then you clearly disagree with the license-agrement.
If so, why did you accept the license-aggrement then, if you dont agree with it?
Easy, isnt it? |
