Issue is fixed in Ubuntu 17.04 and nvidia driver 381.22 GTX 670 - post processing on high (all settings max) = no black squares.

I get the exact same error message, but if i fire up my VPN i can connect and play without an issue. Playing on Ubuntu 17.04, using eve launcher/wine modified by CCP Snorlax (Thanks ;) )

After 12 years im also looking for a new game. Star Citizen Which is currently in alpha looks promising. But has microtransactions from the get go. Stellaris Looks kinda fun, eve and dust rolled into one package.

Cap it at 20m Skill Points per year (same as neural remap). 20m SP is around 1 year worth of training, anything more and the system is going to be abused.
