Depends on what you would call an 'upgrade'. Nighthawks work well due to (marginally) higher dps and better overall resists...But at 200M extra and you loose a mid-slot and less powergrid? Keep using drakes

You need a mwd instead of the ab to close as fast as possible, tackle and dps. I never liked the merlin just for the fact of the 50/50 split weapons. Kestrel is a much better ship. Train up for AF's and get a Harpy...Now that's a fun ship
