Could anyone please explain to me a good reason to fly anything OTHER than a BS at this point in the game. Lack of skill points to get into a BS doesn't count, it doesn't take long to get them.

Your problem is the dual core processor most likely. It's trying to switch between which part of the processor Eve is using and that's creating the jerkiness. Just go into your task manager and find the eve.exe file and set it to use a single proc...
