Assault ships are already advanced versions of T1 frigs that occupy a similar role. Frankly, adding T3 assault frigs would just be pointless, at least until CCP balances the game out for a set of T3 ships.

I have one question: why on Earth would you leave a jetcan out for more than an hour? Especially a can full of ore. Even if you're mining in a system that has no stations, it takes well less than 10 minutes to swap your ship and haul the ore back....
