Heres my question, Does a character who train in both mining and fighting be any worse than a character who specialize in one field? Are there any consequence in training in many fields other than its more time consuming?

Well, things are kinda different over there. Some "Gamer" in China don't go to school or work, They'll play MMORPG all day and sell their in-game items and characters to make money. Many people live of their lives like that.
