Get the omega drivers at www.omegadrivers.net and see if that helps with stablity. It sounds like your ATI card is shot I would RMA it and get a new one to be on the safe side.

Yea EVE is CPU intensive.. I would upgrade the heat sink on the CPU to counter this . Most after market hs are good and fairly cheap in price depending on how extravagent they get.

make sure when you install your new drivers uninstall the old .. it can cause issues with a driver not being fully writen over by the new drivers and cause errors.
