AH wtf?! im tryin to download the premium of the sight and all the updates links lead to nothin so now i cant go get premmium but actualy if i do get this up on my comp and it amazingly works dose that mean my time on classic is effected or anything??

Sounds like you need to enable the background intelligent transfer service on your box. I didn't get that error so I'm not sure.

where can I get the premium lite version, I can find the full version no problem but my laptop won`t run that, it gets very warm when running the classic

Yes, but how do I do it??? It was working, but few days ago my antivirus wasn't able anymore to autoupdate itself, I think it's because of BITS too. So, how do I enable BITS service again?

CCP. This is terrible. I can live with downloading a large installer, but the bulkdata patch isn't working and the instructions on the thread don't work. I get an incompatible build error.
I downloaded bulkdata.zip and extracted it to the ccp\eve directory, overwriting the old version. I checked that there wasn't a bulkdata\bulkdata folder and it still didn't work. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling, but the same problem.
The eve download section of the web site still has the old clients and the customer support portal says that "Current Client Version: 5.20.75883" but it says 6.10.84063 when I launch eve.exe.
This is a big deployment and there's bound to be issues. But you made 2 very critical mistakes 1) There's no excuse for very basic mistakes on the web site. 2) Supplying difficult to read instructions (what the hell is a TQ version??)for a known issue and which simply don't work is very unprofessional.
You lost the confidence of a lot of customers tonight.

start>run> type: msconfig > services > tick BITS ----> win

Fastest way would be "start/run" and type "services.msc", then search for that service and enable it. That goes for XP, never had to do that on M$ Fister, err, Vista so far.

Just wanted to say GRRRRRR to the EVE team. This was very poor planning and I will not renew. Just thinking how many times I come home from work to sit and play and you're forcing me to upgrade, again.

I am downloading a complete new client now and hope that works. After 6 and a half year of playing, still getting such a bad usability in patching, every patch, every time and like always only in english and with a real bad explaining, what to do. The only thing which makes that equal, is that the developers are really good. Dunno, why you can be so awsome on the one side and you are not able to get a clean, easy updateservice on the other, that will not go in my head. but if I type this here or in china farks a chinese must be the same, like every patch, humm

I have downloaded it, it installs AND WORKS. If your having connection problems, then it is no fault of CCP its your damn ISP. Learn to place blame where it should be placed instead of going all angsty 13 year old teen on everyone! b o o m |

Ok thanks to the community for your efforts in helping people affected by the new patch disease. But guess what I have the shiny new login splash but still that joyful 'Incompatible Version' issue.
So it is 22.14 here is the UK I am going to bed then to work, then when I get back online in 21.75 hours time I expect CCP to have sorted this out. If not then I thank CCP for helping me make the decision to finally turn my back on EVE and get on with other more supported games that are on the market at the moment
Until tommorow I wish all good luck and hopefully good flying :D

Ok here was my situation and the simple fix I found. I had Eve classic running on windows xp, my client would only give the incompatible version message with or with out changing the bulkdata folder. I decided pactching just wasn't the solution and looked for the complete install. Thanks to the previous posts here i was able to put together the link from ccp. http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe The transfer rate here was good and took me about 20 min to get the 1.94gb file. spent 45-hour installing praying that premium light was an option here.... I estimate needing around 6.5 gb to get this thing unpacked and installed. Splash Screen and Success! At this point I am thinking this is working with premium light as you can change your shader settings in game. In any case I am in game and hopefully some of you will be soon too.

Just to recap something said before: If you're getting the "Temporary Error" message it just means you don't have 1.6 gigs free of your C: drive. You need to free up more space, and yes, for some dumb reason it has to be on C:. Why the error message doesn't just say that is completely lost on me, but there you go. Hopefully it'll solve that problem for you guys.
