Hey guys this was happening to me too. Then I remembered that in vista you need to "run as an administrator" for almost all of my programs to work. Such as vent or TS.(I use a profile that has less rights)so i need to right-click and "run as administrator." ......However, you need to go to your eve file and right click your "eve" file and "run as admin" then it will prompt for credentials and bam your to the auto dl for the new patch.

OMG. THX so much. The damned patch mechanism did not absolutely work for me. I replaced all files in bulkdata and waited minutes for it to start but it didn't do that!

Umm those thinks are for premium! I dont ahve premuim or a computer that can support that! Soo any thinks for plain old classic because i am stuck where alot of people are cant download patch just says incompatiable version!!!

I tried downloading the patch thing, and it said I need to have the premium client to download. I thought the point of the new patch was getting premium Lite or something. Do I need to download the entire premium client and try again?

The Classic version is replaced by a Premium Lite version. Don't know where you can download that though

This is probably the biggest disaster since the big disaster of the last patch for CCP payers.
Its disgusting that CCP can take our money and not provide any support or information whatsoever on the new patch.
I have logging into eve, "Incompatible Version", I downloaded the bulk patch zip file and extracted it into the Eve folder, Tried logging back in using the client and im given "Incompatible Version" again.
CCP has chosen to bury its head in the sand and adopt a if I cant see it its not there attitude.
CCP resolve the issue immediately and unconditionally otherwise face the growing anger and wrath of its PAYING customers.

Have you tried to del temp and temp inet files
I did this and it got me past that error
I have also stoped all services but those needed for the internet
including pc based firewall and AV
just trusting the ADSL router firewall for now

Well sadly my problem it not getting this small file that starts the downloading of the big patch. I get this everytime i try.

Problem i have is that the file should be 1.3gb but it allways tells me: "The BITS Service hast been disabled.Please use our manuell download".
wtf i used manuell download.

quastion... if u downlaod and install the premium lag client! Can u turn off the the premuim graphics so it basically runs like the classic! i dont know what to do other than try that!!

Well ... I am not gonna gripe ... if it had worked it would of been great ... but I would of thought you with your vast experience would of recognised that offering a near 2GB PATCH! to your 200K subscribers without some sort of mirroring/torrenting in place was always doomed to fail.
I have given up ... who knows, I heard a rumour my PC will not cope with it when I do finally get it so ... well ... lets just say it's been fun.

Its especially crucial for me because yesterday AT&T's DSL service decided to crap out on me in the afternoon for the majority of the day. And this was when I was trying to logon to switch my training to a longer skill than Repair Systems Level 4. Right now I'm losing about 15 hours of training because of that :(.
