First thanx for you amazing plan and continued contributions.
I was still under -5 with diplo 5 with amarr and caldari when I decided to try to restore them a bit.
I found my way. I chose Oremmulf IX - Moon 2 - Imperial Armaments Warehouse, as there are 3 level 1 distribution agents. Most missions can be done in a "nano inty", the rest in a cargo hold expanded "mining" frig or catalyst (3 lows for more cargo expanders). I guess a blocake runner would do superbly as the large cargo ship, but I'm far from having the skills to fly one. so I wont comment.
I did decline all mining missions, and all missions more than 2 jumps away. Often the 3 agents propose a transport to/from the same system, which speed up things. You can wait next "run" to accept a mission, so that you increase the probability of a shared "run". This technique doesn't fasten things much however. A decent amount of missions are in Oremmulf itself. The objective is of course to minimize the time to get a storyline mission, and so minimize the number of warps and jumps.
The pool of missions is limited, and you benefit from fitting a mwd on your inty, as for some missions you have to get a thing from a can ins space (the device!!!), which can be some kms away. You benefit from mounting guns too, as you might have to shoot some cargo ship or structure to loot the mission objective (they take like 30 seconds to shoot down, max).
Finally, Oremmulf has two gates, one is next door to the station, the other is 44.8 AU away. So you benefit rigging your inty (in my case ares) and "cargo" frig/destro with Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer rigs (for warp speed). You can get them for 130k usually.
All in all I was able to get a storyline mission each 60 minutes in average. It took me 8 hours to get my amarr standings to -4.99, and start the plan. if I remember correctly, I at was -9.07 absolute standings with amarr when I started. Each storyline banks 0.249 or 0.42% faction standings while declining missions costs you 0.01%. I was declining in the like of 10 missions per story-line.
I don't know if it the fastest, but it's simple. (And I was able to remote margin trade in Rens during the warps, keeping me occupied, and banking me... quite a bit ^^).
However I didn't post to tell you this (even if it somewhat got out of hand :P), but because I wanted to tell you that I believe the 'plan' would benefit from a more detailed section about what to do when your faction standings are below -5. FW, cross agents (or my lazy method). Of course, with absolute standing in the -9 region, diplomacy 5 is, imo, the absolute first priority. |

r0selan, thanks for sharing that info.
The 'Plan' does state that after training Diplomacy level 5 and if still below -5.00 Faction standing, completing regular level 1 missions to gain storyline mission offers is required. It also mentions that completing courier missions for Distribution Agents is the quickest way to achieve that goal.
As for spamming the 'Decline' option more than once every 4 hours, I didn't mention anything about that because I believe it's not a good idea. Granted the amount of negative standing hit may be small but it's still a negative hit. The idea is to minimize the amount of negative standing hits while repairing and boosting Faction standings.
However, the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' is exactly what the name implies, a 'Plan' which can be adapted and changed to benefit each players specific needs and goals. Obviously this is what you did and congratulations to you for a job well done.
I hope you have continued good luck and much success.

Social and diplomacy are both level 5.
I just started doing the repair plan for Amarr (-3.5) and Caldari (-2.0)
Stared at Amarr career agents.
(Conoban System - Hedion University)
Each agent gives a chain of missions, teaching all the aspects of the game (Scanning, Repair, AB, mining, battle, salvage etc.) You get a small faction bonus once you complete a chain. The bonus is between 0.8% to 1.8% so far. However you do get a negative bonus impact towards the other two factions (Gallante and Minmatar) Since my standing for those two factions is 7.6 and 7.4, I can take the hits, but I'm not liking it.
What can I do to increase my standing without getting a negative standing hit? |

Bob Jan, thanks for posting and sorry to hear about your disappointment.
Yeah, unfortunately most of the Event Agents listed in the 'Plan' give derived standings, both positive and negative, towards all Factions. That is the reason for keeping watch on the standings and then alternate or 'bounce' to another Faction's Event Agents when needed.
Since you've already trained Social and Diplomacy skills to level 5, train Connections skill to level 5. That will help increase your current positive Faction standings.
Other than training up the various Social skills, completing the Epic Arcs will give a large Faction standing gain with little to no derived standings towards the other Factions. The only problem is that they can only be completed every 3 months.
Right now you could run the level 1 SoE Epic Arc and complete it for Amarr, then run the level 4 Amarr and Caldari Epic Arcs. That should make you positive with those Empire Factions without incurring any negative Faction standing hits towards Minmatar and Gallente.
I hope this info helps and good luck to you.

Thanks for the reply.
Atm I can't do the epic arcs of Amarr and Caldari because I have a below -2.0 faction standing. I'l do the SoE epic arc first.
Guess I'l do the bounce trick, since the small lose of standing because of the career agents can be counterd by doing level 4 missions with Minmatar and Gallante.
I'm only after the epic arcs for Amarr and Caldari.
Is it better to get a -1.9 standing with both factions and then get my standing to 5.0 with the epic arc corperations? I bet that's a lot faster then getting my faction standing up to 5.0.

Oh, good catch. Somehow I forgot to include the info about needing above -2.00 Faction standing to run the level 4 Epic Arcs. Must have been a bit more tired than I thought.
Anyway, yeah, the easiest way to access the level 4 epic arc starting agents is to get Faction above -2.00 standing and Corp above +5.00 standing.
Looks like you'll have to complete just a few more Amarr Event Agent missions to get Amarr and Caldari above -2.00 Faction standing.. Of course that means you'll also get a few more negative hits to Gallente and Minmatar.
Then run the epic arcs. Completing the level 4 Minmatar arc incurs a couple of negative standing hits towards Amarr and Ammatar.
Hope you have much success and thanks for pointing out the missing info.

Out of curiosity, what is the effective ceiling on average faction standings?
It has been quite some years since I last looked it up. I think the general theory a few years ago was that you couldn't push much past 4.0 averaged across the four factions, mostly due to the amarr being quite easy to **** off. Is this still the case? |

NotSureIfArab OrJustLatino, that's a very good question.
I can't give you an exact standing number or the amount of time required to accomplish it. Right now my average Empire Faction standings are in the high +5.00 standing. I am currently working the level 4 Epic Arcs and I still have the level 4 Cosmos Agents left to complete.
Since the Epic Arcs can be completed every 3 months for a large Faction standing increase with little to no derived standings towards the other Factions, I see no problem in gaining very high Empire Faction standings. Of course it'll take time to accomplish that.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more precise answer.

Not a problem.
I doubt anyone can give a definite answer to that question. The Epic Arcs have pretty much deleted the standing limits that were previously in the game.
Just in case you were wondering, the level 1 Event Agent missions can be easily completed with minimum skill levels. Keep in mind that completing those will incur both positive and negative derived standings towards all the Factions.

For the level 1 SoE Epic Arc, the first couple of times I completed it was in a Tech 1 Frigate (Rifter) and then later in a Tech 2 Force Recon Cruiser (Rapier). Both are T2 rigged and fitted.
For the level 4 Epic Arcs I mostly use a Tech 2 Command Ship (Sleipnir) and switch to a Tech 3 Strategic Cruiser (Loki) when needed on missions that have high amount of incoming DPS. Of course they're both T2 rigged and Faction / Deadspace fitted.
The T3 Cruiser actually has more defense, faster speed, quicker alignment with a much smaller signature radius when compared to the T2 Command Ship. Unfortunately it also puts out less DPS so it takes a bit longer to kill the NPC's.
I also followed the Eve Survival Mission Reports to track the triggers while doing the level 4 Epic Arcs.

I have been on and off for Eve for the past 3 years. My standing is not that great for certain factions (amarr/caldari). I saw this guide and started to get in to this.
My problem was that I needed to make notes on what was done and what needed to be done so the task was to check all agents and see if I did that one. I would suggest to make notes in the Eve Notepad as to what missions/agents you already did so when you comeback after a while you know where you left off and do not have to go check each agent again.
Beside my agent check grinding this guide is a 10 STAR guide - thank you DMC. >>> Mine is Bigger than Yours ! <<< |

Yes, keeping track of agents already completed is a very good idea, especially when working the Cosmos Agents. The in-game notepad is indeed very handy for that.
Probably a good idea to keep an out of game back-up copy of the notepad as well, just in case.

Ahhh, it's good to hear that.
If you have over -5.00 Faction standing with all Empire Factions, might think about completing the level 1 SoE arc for Amarr or Caldari, whichever one is lowest. Can easily complete that within a few days for a sizable Faction standing increase.
That way you won't have to grind endless amounts of regular missions for storyline offers if all you're trying to do is get the Faction standings more balanced.
Anyway, thanks for the friendly bump and good luck to you.

That was the first thing I did - the SOE Epic arc, took me aprox 6 hours to complete the arc and got a nice boost for Amarr.
Will definitely start doing the epic arc's (SOE) each 3 months to raise it to a positive standing.
At the moment I am doing L3 Amarr en minmatar in the same system with a BS and that is going Blitz, so most of teh time I get 2 storylines for both Minmatar and Amarr.
Do you know if teh standing gained with the storylines is a set % gain ? I just want to calculate in advanced to knwo what each standing will do before I accept and run teh mission for each faction >>> Mine is Bigger than Yours ! <<< |

Ahhh, thanks for clarifying.
Can't really place a definite number due to various factors involved.
The amount of standing gained is varied due to different storyline missions being offered. Along with that, the level of Social skills trained, Agent location (system security level) and the Agent Effective Quality will also modify the amount gained.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more specific answer.

Thanks.
Yeah, I actually started working and formatting the 'Plan' back in late 2009, then revised and refined it during the first half of 2010. I basically split my time between working the 'Plan' and doing exploration. The 'Plan' could have been worked much faster but I really enjoy doing exploration.
The 3 month time limit on the Epic Arcs isn't too bad. I had started the level 4 Epic Arcs right after the last time I completed the level 1 Epic Arc. In the middle of Feb, I'll be able to start it again. So basically if I was to spend a week or so between each Epic Arc doing something else such as in my case, do exploration, I'll be able to just keep doing the Epic Arcs without having long periods of waiting time.
My goal, besides achieving very high Faction standings with all Empire Factions, is to complete all Event Agents currently active in the game. That includes the Pirate Event Agents as well. Those will be worked last of course. It'll be quite a while before I can access the Faction ship BPC Agents, especially if I work the Pirate Cosmos Agents.
As for Empire Event Agents, I have the level 4 Cosmos Agents and a few Data Center Agents left to complete. I made a statement back when I first started working the 'Plan' that achieving over +7.00 standing with the 4 major Empire Factions could easily be done quickly by working this 'Plan'. It'll be interesting to see just how high my Empire standings are after completing the last of the Empire Event Agents..

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Faction_Standing_Repair_Plan#Pirate_Standings
Well, basically I'll do it like how it's listed in the 'Plan'. After completing both Pirate Epic Arcs with the Social skills maxed, my standing with Angels and Guristas should be close to neutral which will allow me to start working their level 1 Cosmos Agents. I may have to wait until I complete the Pirate Epic Arcs a 2nd time to complete the higher level Pirate Cosmos Agents.
I'm not looking to make all Pirate Factions positive since my goal is to just complete all Event Agents in the game. I figure with high Empire Faction standings, I can afford the standing hits to complete the Pirate Cosmos Agents since there's only 7 agents for each of those 2 Pirate Factions. After that, I'll add the Pirate Epic Arcs into rotation with the other Epic Arcs to continue raising Angel and Guristas Faction standings along with the Empire Factions.

Well, I've never done the Pirate Epic Arcs but they're probably set up like the level 4 Epic Arcs, large Faction standing increase with little to no negative standing hits.
For more info about the Pirate Epic Arcs, best to get in touch with a player who has done the Pirate Epic Arcs quite a few times and also sells support packages (guide with bookmarks) for those arcs - Substantia Nigra - she posted a reply in this thread - page 1 post 7 - her signature has a link to info about the Pirate Support Packages.
Anyway, like I said, my goal is to complete all Event Agents in this game. I won't work the Pirate Event Agents untill after I've completed all the Empire Event Agents, by then my standings should be really high.
If the Pirate Epic Arcs have a lot of Faction standing hits, I'll only complete them once or twice, just enough to work the Pirate Cosmos Agents. That way I can complete my goal.

OfBalance,
Thanks, wait til I complete the level 4 Cosmos Agents and do another round or two of Epic Arcs.
Yes, you only need to have +5.00 or higher corporation standing and above -2.00 Faction standing with the level 4 epic arc starting agent. After that, the rest of the agents in the Arcs don't check your standings. The level 4 arcs are mainly high sec locations with a few missions in low sec but those are usually small courier missions.
The level 1 SoE epic arc doesn't require any standing to start, but it does require you to travel in all Empire Factions space. So you'll want to have all Empire Factions above -5.00 standing and your personal security status above -2.00 standing. If not, then Faction Navy NPC's will attack. All missions are high sec locations.
The level 3 Pirate epic arcs require +3.00 or higher corporation standing and above -2.00 Faction standing with the starting agent. There's 3 different starting agents for these arcs. 1 Pirate agent and 2 Empire agents. The Pirate arcs are set up for small ships, such as Interceptors and the missions are located in 0.0 space.
I hope this answers your question. Good luck to you and much success.

Just wanted to update everyone on my progress so far.
My last update had Caldari well above +6.00 and Gallente below +6.00. I need to work both Gallente and Caldari level 4 cosmos agents at the same time due to the huge amount of standing, both negative and positive, that will be incurred. Doing so will basically continue raising all the Factions and insure that I won't be locked out.
My previous statistics:
Empire Faction Standings - Modified (Base): Caldari State +6.81 (+6.01), Amarr Empire +6.10 (+5.12), Minmatar Republic +5.93 (+4.91), Gallente Federation +5.84 (+4.80), The Interbus +5.04 (+3.80), Khanid Kingdom +4.59 (+3.23), Ammatar Mandate +4.46 (+3.07), Concord Assembly +2.56 (+0.70),
I had to do some creative missioning to balance my standings out a bit more and raise Gallente standing for access to their level 4 Cosmos agents without locking out the Caldari level 4 Cosmos agents. I did some regular mission grinding for storyline offers from Gallente and SoE. I completed a storyline mission for level 1, 2 and 3 Gallente agents and one storyline for SoE level 1 agent. Hopefully I can now start working the level 4 Gallente and Caldari Cosmos agents at the same time. When I say at the same time, that means having a mission from each Faction active in the journal.
My current statistics:
Empire Standings - Modified (Base): Caldari State +6.58 (+5.73), Minmatar Republic +6.04 (+5.05), Amarr Empire +6.01 (+5.01), Gallente Federation +6.00 (+5.00), The Interbus +5.05 (+3.82), Khanid Kingdom +4.49 (+3.11), Ammatar Mandate +4.32 (+2.90), Concord Assembly +2.56 (+0.70),

Dunno if I should start a separate thread, but ran into some Circle Agents woes.
Quote:Hi,
The Circle agents don't necessarily give any standings increase. There is just 1 agent in the line which can give a standings increase, he has 2 missions and 1 of them is once-per-character and gives a standing increase. If you did the other mission, you won't get any. This is not a bug, repeatable missions shouldn't give standing increases.
Best regards, GM **** EVE Online Customer Support
I may have worded it wrong, I got Corp Standings increase but no Amarr Empire Faction Standing increase. I should have gotten an Empire Faction boost from at least one of the Circle Agents, correct?
As a side note, Ain Ikani gives me no more missions, get the standard I have no more work for you message.
===============Update================ Holy crap! I see the problem and I think I fixed it myself. Will post full details here shortly.
========UPDATE 2===================== yep, fixed it myself, here is what happened
I went to check my transactions for time period I did the Amarr Circle Agents, so on my log I start with Ain Ikani
- 1/24/2012 @ 22:15 To The Front Lines
- 1/24/2012 @ 22:27 Robotics For Sarum Family
- 1/24/2012 @ 22:36 Cargo Transportation
- 1/24/2012 @ 22:43 Equipping The Troops
- 1/24/2012 @ 22:55 Ready for Relocation
See anything wrong? The second mission per Evelopedia should have been "The Carthum Executive". So I went to visit Ilia Abazen again and once again she gave me "Robotics for Sarum Family". On a hunch I went ahead and did it then ran back to her. The next mission she gave me was "The Carthum Executive" and it had the text at the top about this is an important storyline mission, etc. Did this mission and bam! I got my Empire Faction boost.
It appears I got a regular mission instead of the Circle mission when I first went to this particular agent. So the lesson here is to double check the missions you completed against the Evelopedia information. If you get a regular mission, just do it and go back to that agent until you get the right mission. |
