Just wanted to give out respect to pretty much everyone in this thread. The frank discussion of diplomacy in here shines a favorable light upon the maturity and complexity of Eve life.
Regardless of your position on the issues I offer my respect to you all. Damn this is a great community! Eve Guardian - Former Reporter

Edited by: DJTheBaron on 20/08/2004 12:49:43 put it this way, the aliances who own all that space yet not the stations are a joke, an alliance with no stations? Its a kick in the teeth every time theyre told they cant have the stations they fight for, and its not as if the people who tell them this are willing to fight for them, or defend that area, theyre simply in it for the tax, fountian cant defend that area even if it wanted to, they cant defend fountian, and theyre soon going to find the people they used as a firewall and then taxed are sick of that excrement

Having fought with Zoners as part of a CFS operation when the stations first appeared, I can understand the frustration that station control (or lack of) generates. We moved a lot of resource in, only to have the station taken and we then had to move out when Techell hired M0o and it became unusable to us.
I agree with the other posters that say that stations should be controlled by locals, who would then benefit from them and use revenue generated to possibly fund a local defence force, not some distant alliance that uses the station as some sort of revenue generator to help it try and raise ISK to acquire a monopoly in Tech II BP's. All this backed up by veiled threats of force if the locals dare question the status quo.
I am also very pleased with the way in which CA has matured in the way it is dealing with locals and is acting in a pragmatic manner to resolve a situation that benefits neither DSMA/CFS or the CA.
The CA doesn't want to control CFS space, nor does the FA, but at least the CA doesn't want to tax you for the privilige. Taxation without representation anyone????
I also think that this has been a great thread for mature discussion on a potentially very 'hot' topic

There have been no veiled threats. We have stated publicly that we will kill whoever takes our stations. End of discussion.
On the other hand, while you guys are busy deciding who you hate the most, the parties involved are discussing the issue, hopefully to the fulfillment of everyone's wishes.

This may help, though I admit I do not know what the current ROE stand at this time:
Originally by: Duke Droklar
NOTE: DSMA should have a frig scout preceding any convoys or transports announcing to CA fleets that DSMA will be passing through. This is the only way to ensure accidents do not occur. Once CFS officially accepts our offer and ceases assistance to FA we will grant them the same courtesy.
It maybe the case that you should ask in local if you can pass through prior to attempting to run the blockade and getting blown to Khanid Prime and back. That or simply scout and chose not to pass then. Jumping blind into a known warzone is a quick way to invite death upon yourself.

We have ceased hostilities with DSMA pilots which they can confirm as for other pilots we don't see you as neutrals just like any other alliance inside a war zone will shoot you if your not identified as a friendly faction pilot.

I am prepared to form a one-pseron corporation and manage the station for all people.
All taxes and fees to be set to minimum and docking rights granted to everyone.
Isn't that the most sensible solution for all of the stations in those regions ?

Have a FA force move there and stay there for more than a week or two and defend it, then, and ONLY then can you ever call it yours. If its in CFS space and CFS forces are the only ones defending it, the FA has no right to hold it. Besides, CSF is your friend right? Nothing wrong with having your friend hold that station.. FA wouldn't want to willfully harm their friends, would they? It would be in the best interest of FA to let them have it, if they TRULLY considered CFS their friends.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant "If I live, I will kill you, if I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor. |
