I have the same preference here. And I think that graphic is not correctly aligned with the ship.(at least in frigate I checked the source seems to be outside the ship)

I'm totally disgusted with eve anymore. Its always one step forward six steps back. In this kind of economy there are plenty of other options.

Got a few issues here.
*cant disable shadows
*can no longer hear my mining lasers AT ALL, also cant hear when an enemy strikes me(no mater how far i zoom in).
*my mining drones no longer have the mining laser effect (and i really liked that little addition).
*when i mouse over something the tag stays with my cursor which is highly annoying.
Thats all i can think of atm. On the sound issue it seems that many people, including myself, are very displeased with it. Maybe consider adding an option to go back to the old sound system for those of us the want to.

Autopatching worked fine.
Bugs I've noticed so far:
- Warp tunnel when warping in a pod is now perpendicular to the direction of travel. - Game crashes when changing ships while the fitting window is open.
I'll post more as I find them.

I can no longer get past the character selection screen. I was in station, went to refit my ship, opened the fitting window, and not only did the client crash, it locked up my system. That was a few days ago. Since then, my system locks up when the "entering station" status bar is close to completion. I petitioned from the character selection screen, which I'm sure has been answered, but as I can't get into the game, I have no idea what it might be. I also submitted a bug report, followed by DXD report. I'll wait another week for an answer, then I guess I'll have to cancel my subscription, although giving up 4 years time spent building a character is a bit disheartening.

We had this problem on test a few weeks back. First try to see if you can log on another character. If so set a short cut for "Exit Station" in the Short-cuts menue. (Hit esc. once in game and tab over.)
For the character that's stuck: when you get to the black "entering station bar," and it seems to stop moving, hit esc. on your key board. This should clear the loading bar. Then hit your short cut key to "exit station." This should push you outside. If problem persists, log in space. I hope this works for you.
Cheers Meridus.

Here we go again; trying to install on windows side only.
Rig stats: Dual core Hybrid HP DV6000 laptop (15" screen, not the 17" version) OS 1: 32 bit Linux Fedora 9 (if you think 32 bit is bad, try installing any linux flavor on a HP laptop) OS 2: 64 bit Vista Ultimate SP1 Nvidia video card with latest drivers
Steps taken (windows side only) 1: auto patching - crc fail 2: downloaded offline installer - crc fail 3: downloaded full build - crc fail 3a - 3h: downloaded full build - crc fail 4: uninstalled client (as that worked for the initial Apoc release) 5: downloaded offline installer - crc fail 5a - 5d: downloaded full build - crc fail
I will wait until this weekend to try again as I have spent a great deal of time downloading fail after fail thus far, and yes I understand that 250,000 peeps are trying to download at the same time. Insert witty pun here |

Originally by: Soporificstorm Sound is no better, in fact I would say that it is worse. I am not unique in this and in the last 2 hours of game play haven't heard my turrets fire once. I am sure that you will say that this is a client error, but before you do.....my driver's are up to date, I had no problem before the Apocrypha patch and all the other games I play work fine.
I hope that you will have the politness to reply to points raised in this thread.
Seconded. I understand that creating a game is difficult since I made one myself. But please test stuff more deeper before deploying.
It's a big releave that you lowered the sound of the acceleration gates, but now I have absolutly no turret sounds at all on my own ships (I can hear the enemies turrets, though not very loud)
Same goes for explosion etc, it was all much more better and has given a great game atmoshere before the patch. Some of the explosion just sound like a silent "pffft" fart right next to you, not to mention that the removal of the screen flashing is also a step back :(
Please think about that and revamp the sound system for good. In my opinion, space "realism" is secondary, game experience and the fun with it must have priority.
Thanks.

Come on people, do you really think that CCP is going to admit that they've f*cked up? They are giving us the normal treatment where they sit with their eyes closed, hands over their ears and saying "lalalalala" and hoping that the community would finally stop bothering them if ignored long enough..
F*cking great customer service when they won't even bother to write ONE post where they say that our concerns are being addressed! (Probably takes too much time and, heaven forfend, might actually make CCP appear to actually listen to the worries of the community, instead of being typical greedy company who chant "moar money! moar money! f*ck the community").
Guess what, quite many ppl are finally coming to the end of their endurance and leaving eve because the "silent treatment" and "moar flashy-things and eyecandy that appeal to the WoW converts" (and at the end the new effects are f*cked up anyways) instead of fixing what the community has been voicing concerns for MONTHS OR YEARS!..
ONE SINGLE POST where they address the community and say that they're working on it would suffice, but nooo.. F*ck the community..

After playing EVE on Steam for the entire day yesterday, since it was the only thing that worked after this patch, just happy that I had gotten it to work.
Today Steam insists on updating EVE and guess what.
*drum roll*
....
..... VERIFICATION ERROR!
How you could botch a patch like this is beyond me, I didn't mind reinstalling those four times, but the fifth time, seriously. this is just ****ed up.

(posted this in the feedback thread by mistake)
06:28:48 Combat Your Amarr Navy Tachyon Beam Laser barely scratches Supreme Alvus Parasite, causing 3008.7 damage.
If that's "barely scratches" I can't wait til I get a wrecking hit...
In all seriousness though, every hit is "barely scratches". I haven't yet seen a "(Wrecking!)" hit though I'm not sure if that's just because I've been unlucky.
Prior to 1.0.2 all the damage notifications were stuck in simple mode, now post 1.0.2 they're stuck in "barely scratches". I may be being stupid but aren't these things patently obviously broken when they're rolled out to SiSi? |

Some of us have monthly bandwidth caps, and having to redownload the client really doesn't help. (I hope I have to download it only once, who knows if it'll work though)

Oh man I'm totally with you. I tried to patch, and it failed, I tried to download the full client which it did, but I got some crc fail again, and I'm doing this on slow ISP (more than day to download) and I got way ahead of in-package traffic for this month, so now paying per every extra meg, and it's gotta cost me way more than I paid for EVE for my whole life.

Sigh, this is ******ed.
Could someone with a working patch copy upload the two files:
Eve online/common.ini Eve online/lib/stdlib.ccp ?
Maybe replacing them with working versions will fix the verification errors.

My ship model disappears when zoomed out; upon zooming in I have to mess with the camera a bit to get it to reappear, although the radar on my Catalyst always shows. I have seen rat models disappear too, although less regularly.

You're really passing the red line. Since I really can't stand rantings of 10yo kids, without any education whatsoever, I can assure you that, if CCP don't ban you, I will hunt and pod you until you give up and go play WOW. It's not a promise

Originally by: Cameron Freerunner I'm getting crashes after patching too. It seems to happen when I'm in the fitting screen. Windows Vista reports "data execution prevention" error. Seems to think CCP is trying to run malicious code.
Also getting the disappearing ship model. Seems to happen when I zoom in while warping. that's it so far, but that's less than a half hour online.
I agree with others: no need to rant, but CCP feedback is important. At least if there were a visible list of bugs, we'd know we weren't crazy. We might even be able to help you figure out solutions. I work in a company that has a call center for customer support. If you want to decrease the call volume and email volume (and ranting), you must communicate, educate, inform. Anyway, let's see if I can manage to get my ship refitted without crashing.
i had this problem myself and incase anyone can benefit i will post what i had to do to work around this issue:
goto control panel > system > advanced system settings > performance settings > Data execution prevention
when there check the box to turn on DEP for all programs then add the eve client to the list
eve no longer crashes at the fitting screen
i hope this helps
