ps: I was constructive when the installer bug was found on SiSi. I was then constructive when the bug was found with the initial apoc release, even finding a workaround that worked for many players. Thats finding a workaround when CCP couldnt be bothered. So, little gimps, I have the right to complain and be abusive to a bunch of fools that KNOW there is an issue but refuse to fix it. They refuse to fix it because they rely on the player base to fix it for them.
See you soon m;kay? THATS a promise

Rails and blasters (at least mine) now have NO sound whatsoever. Yes, even if I zoom aaaall the way in.
I'd have to say "from bad to worse".

Hey at least you guys can play. I keep getting "Some of the installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation." Patch failed yesterday for me, so I uninstalled the client and went to work while the client downloaded again. Get home from work...... nothing, some crazy error message I didn't understand. So, I uninstalled it AGAIN to download it yet AGAIN.... Woke up this morning to install the download and got this..... 'CRC failed in eveonline_85476.7z'
As if I had any idea what that means. All I know is that message represents more money I'm wasting on not getting to play a game I pay for.
Does anybody have a solution that doesn't require me messing around with the files?
Telling me it can be solved by changing line X to line Y (messing with my program files), etc etc... is like asking a man that has frenchfries instead of fingers to knit a sweater. Can I PLEASE get some help on this issue?

I keep getting the patch that corrupts my install, this is the 7th time reinstalling, pathetic that even after the downtime this isn't fixed.

This is what I did to get it to work:
1. Download fresh copy from Steam 2. Backup it by using the steam backuper 3. Patch the game so it gets corrupt. 4. Go to your backup folder of EVE and double click the restoration EXE steam created 5. Follow the steps and at the end just click the link and close it then click finish, after I did this, EVE started working.

What was fixed?
The sound is worse than ever. No firing sounds and a horrible crackle out of one speaker when something pops and the music levels still have to be set really low compared to other sounds.
When undocking from some stations I still end up looking at a point inside my ship.
I daren't try the skill queue fix as I couldn't understand what was actually fixed, if anything.
New bug of a complete program crash when I try to change ships whilst in the ship fitting screen.
In fact apart from no/worse sound and the new bug I can't see much change.
Not a very good bug release

Something I've noticed that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is right-clicking in general. 90% of the time when I try to right-click on something in the overview, drone bay (out-of-station), or clicking on my ship in-station nothing happens. Usually I have to right-click multiple times to get the context menu to appear. This isn't really a problem in-station, but in the middle of a fight it is a major hassle. I have multiple accounts and this happens on two/thirds of them.

Not on my system. Its exactly the same. No UI sounds at all, muffled mush elsewhere, spotting fighting sounds, and a fall off of 5km camera zoom to zero. Sums up to hopeless mess.

A bit of an attempt to help those with patching errors:
1) In the future make a BACKUP of the EVE install BEFORE attempting to patch. This only helps next time unfortunately. 2) Disable any Virus scanner, and other protection software you might have on your computer before starting the patching process. Some software in that category messes the patching procedure up.
3) If someone has had the patch complete, but get errors when starting the game, could you please try computing a md5sum hash value set using this program:
Inside
and post the result here. The program is fairly easy to use, all you need to do is to install it and start the Inside/md5sum/Create md5sum program, and point it to your EVE directory. Please uncheck the "Include subfolders" option.
See next post for a complete md5 list of my EVE files.
