This is very odd. I started the game, downloaded the patch and patched in a couple of minutes. Started the game and it worked like a charm.
Hope it sorts out for you.

I couple observations:
Patch worked like a charm. I never had any problems applying EVE patches, but I believe that lots of the people with problems patching has their virus scanner set up wrong, or something like that.
New issue: The tool tip that appears when right-clicking a stargate to make a jump seems to stick to the mouse cursor. Slightly annoying.
Old issues: No Salvager effect. No Tractor beam effect. No Missile launch effect. No Explosion sound. No Strip miner effect.
Do you want me to bug report each issue by itself, or one bug report for all of them ?

Feedback on the reduction of sound in stations - it stinks that you have still not given us the option to turn it off. Feedback on the disappearing battle sounds whenever you zoom out - fire the genius who made that decision. Feedback on the fact that responses from CCP in these columns are consistently non-existent - I have no choice but to blame management. To you I say - get it right or get out. There are good people in the world who could step in and fill your shoes admirably. Thanks.

The probing system should get revisited. First, we really need a way to filter results for PvE/site probing, and probing ships is a very frustrating task.
I think the PvE and PvP system should be separated, because moving and resizing up to 8 widgets as fast as possible is not a great PvP mechanic. The system was originally designed for POS deployment, and works ok at that task. However, the system does not work well with the time factor of PvP. The constant "race" of launching 4/8 probes, selecting proper range, align them in a square and move them around is not a fun mechanic at all. It gets repetitive fast, and exponentially frustrating to use when your targets slip away time after time. Additionally the new system requires too much mouse clicking/dragging.
The worst parts of the new system are imo: Moving and resizing multiple probes as fast as possible Launching multiple probes Moving probes in the z-plane(can be done a lot easier, ref Homeworld) Missclicking widgets, clicking on other icons and probe spheres.
My suggestion for the PvP aspect, is to merge the old system with the new. Give combat probes the ability to find targets with only one probe, like before, but build the system around the new one. Basically, remove the need to launch 4+ probes and shape a pyramid with the widgets, let us move one close-rage probe around instead of four.
The new system could work like this: 1) Launch 1 DSPs(or similar long range combat probe) to check for possible targets in system. 2) If target found, launch 3 more DSPs, get a rough, say 8 AU radius sphere of interest, with the location of the target somewhere inside. Each ship hit should get a unique target ID for easy tracking within the solar system. Friendly target IDs should be tagable so they can be ignored. 3) Launch 1 combat probe, set range 8 AU, move to target area. 4) New scan reveals target with 2 AU deviation within the original 8 AU sphere. 5) Resize combat probe, move to the new location and scan. 6) Depending on the signature of the ship, narrow the scan further down or warp to the target.
This system is a lot easier to balance for Greyscale, it keeps the new xyz-"space" probing feeling, and it is less frustrating to use than the current because it requires a lot less clicking and dragging, and it leaves less room for mistakes(dragging wrong widget/wrong plane). PvP probing have been forced through the Apocrypha patch without as much as an afterthought from Greyscale(evident of his posts on the dev forum). It really needs to be streamlined in order to work.

Well, it was beautiful when the camera didn't shake violently everytime you warped. Alas, CCP "fixed" something that was actually nice. Why did you put the camera shake back into the warp sequence? Were you on drugs? What good does it do? I thought our perspective was from some omnipotent superconscience, not a kite towed behind an internet spaceship. Take that code back out before I get seasick evertime I am running from reds.

Pretty sure you're going to be outnumbered on that opinion. Most people I saw/know wanted the shake back, me included.
That being said, there's a "camera shake" in options, but don't know if that changes the warp effect or not.

Issue with api and/or website when looking up skill-training status via trainingsheet AND via MAC widget.
Website trainingsheet showed me a DIFFERENT skill as completed. Widget took a few minutes to update but it SEEMS as if it is training now correctly.
HOPEFULLY the SQ is going to be working 100% bugfree and reliable SOON !
Being at work knowing I cant do anything (and not online till tommorrow morning..) if the SQ ****s up nearly made me smash the monitor to pieces.... Luckily it only seemed to have been a display problem. Greetings Belmarduk

1) The new sensor booster is not as good as the apocrypha 1.0 one. 2) I'm a little confused about Deep Space probes. They used to have 20 base sensor strength at 2AU. now they only have a sensor strength of 5 at 2AU, which is the same as the core probes at that range? I'm looking at this blog for the old values: http://www.ninveah.com/2009/03/eve-master-class-probe-strength.html
Something I'm missing here? ---

Is truly horrible. Way too flashy, way too fast animation, utterly disturbing in PvP. Please implement something more similar to original one or Apocrypha release, and make sure it is CENTERED on the ship model (current ones are not).
TURRET EFFECTS
Large pulse lasers, should be blending in and out instead of ôstroboö FX: it would convey teh sense of SIZE and POWER, currently missing.
NOS/NEUTRALIZER FX
Current effects are really not that good, in fact I think I still prefer the old one. Main problem: they are too ôfastö and ônervousö looking, they do not give the impression of vast amount of energy being transferred between the ships.
Why did you not implement the awesome PARTICLE base Nos FX, that you showed us some months ago? THAT one was made of pure win. Wish there would be many effects like that, not all the current "water bubble" stuff used everywhere, from webifier to jump gates.
WARP DISRUPTOR FX
Reminds me very much of how a WC being flushed might look like, seen from inside the drain pipe (see Mr. Bean, the movie).
PARTICLE EFFECTS AT GATES
I think I saw them in some preview shots, then they disappeared from Sisi. Are they coming?
PLANETS AND MOONS
High resolution textures, when are they coming? Current celestial objects mostly look like grey blobs.
Also: stations should be more like in ôlow orbitö, almost half of the view should be covered by a planet. THAT would convey the sense of SIZE. See end of Empyrean Age Trailer (at 1:28) for visual reference.
STAR MAP > SYSTEM MAP > NORMAL VIEW
PLEASE bring the controls to switch between views back: - (+) and (-) icons in ship control UI - [ctrl] + mouswheel (I loved this one) - buttons on top of overview Currently only way to open the map is F10 or map icon, and I hate both.
STAR MAP ZOOM AND ROTATION
Is borked. There should be a better way to zoom and rotate the star map.
MEGA/HYPERION ôNERFö
Texture resolution severely nerfed, ships look like they are made of plastic. This is the Hyperion ôpre-Apocryphaö: http://www.digitalnaturalsound.com/resources/eve/2008.02.04.16.49.47.jpg
This is the Hyperion now (yiikes): http://www.digitalnaturalsound.com/resources/eve/2009.03.11.13.27.54.jpg
SHADOWS
Current ones are really ugly. There should be a softer blend between shadow and light, and no pixelization.
SCANNING INTERFACE
Current UI is not very user-friendly, making scanning a PITA. You could improve that adding options for: - changing the scan range of all probes at once (link probes?) - positioning probes in ôpresetö configurations, like tetrahedron, or cube, with just 1 click (basically, no matter how many probes you deploy, they could distribute equally on a ôvirtual sphereö, of which you could set the size (or the size might be dependant of the scan range). Also: the scanning window has some problem, when rescaling the window sometimes the ôprobesö section disappears, and it is really tricky to make it appear again.
WARP TUNNEL EFFECT
- shaking is an option, and should imho be turned OFF as default - shaking could be more SUBTLE, current implementation is rather irritating - part of the effect is missing (please check this thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1011819&page=1#2 )
SOUNDS
Most are way too soft, some are annoying (like chatter sound out of stations). I know there is no sound in space, but these are supposed to be audio cues generated by our pod interface. So make them useful :-)
STATIONS INSIDE
When is the Pleasure Hub coming back? Gallente station interiors are horribly boring!
Keep up the good work, CCP!

Dear CCP,
I must say for 70% of the things done so far, congratulations on a job well done. However for the remaining 30%, I think a serious re think is in order.
Firstly, HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO IGNORE the THOUSANDS of PAYING CUSTOMERS.
Nearly 90%, yes 90% of the THOUSANDS OF PAYING CUSTOMERS to date since you released Apocrypha, have stated issues with the SOUND as it currently stands.
Granted, game development must move forward, but in every single thread I have read so far, I have not come across one reply to the thousands of postings regarding the sound, as to what is happening from the Dev's in regards to the SOUND or lack there of...
For me personally the sound was a major part of the game. Total immersion in a battle, made playing and advancing a character enjoyable.
Secondly, I pay money for my subscription. This I don't mind doing, but what I do mind, and what a few hundred have stated before me is we don't like being ignored.
A simple thread stating what is going to happen regarding the sound would suffice. Simply remaining silent on the issue and ignoring your customers, you know the ones that pay your wages, is not good customer service.
As far as things go. I think you could fudge up a lot of things, but listen to your customers, RETURN the SOUND back to what it was, continue on with the dev but listen and reply to your players, otherwise I think you will see a lot of players dissapearing, and this will in turn cost you money.
Come on fix the sound issue, you will satisfy a lot of people by doing this.
