So I'm watching the Trinity trailer on youtube and having my soul bombarded by this beautiful arrangement of music. It's a glorious celebration of the scale and variety the world of Eve has to offer yet the jukebox in game is full of this emo nonsense.

Why can't we have more of this sort of thing?
The jukebox variety in Eve is something that the developers got so hopelessly wrong that it's a joke. You can't even play your own files.
FIX IT, GOING ON 6 YEARS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not everyone can like it, but it is good quality music. And since it doesn't stand out or draw a lot of attention it makes great background music.
EVE is the only MMO that I haven't turned the music off after a short time, in fact have always left it on since I started playing four years ago. I don't care for some of the tracks, but none of them are obnoxious or even slightly annoying enough for me to care.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

one of the reasons i got into eve over the other mmos was cause the sound, graphics, and design was so all perfectly tied to the feeling of desolate emptiness (this back when we had serif fonts)
and it's not my scene, per say, but c'mon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambient_music
specifically modern electronic ambient since the guy uses almost exclusively real synths (vs VSTs or acoustic instruments).
if you're bored, cross link to demo scene on wiki, which i used to be really into, which goes hand in hand.

Maybe you'd like some of the music Yu Chen (kaiyoti) made for the game Infinity Universe.
Look on his site, he's got a player on the left. Look for the songs that start with "Infinity."
EVE has a different mood. I like the music of EVE, it doesn't get in the way. Or as said, you can turn it off and play your own music using a regular music player.

i think the music is pretty good as well, though i dont listen to any sound due to liking my selection of music and playing it so i can hear a broad selection tastes instead of whining on the forums like a mule.
