Just some info from the patch notes (for the next release candidate)
Quote: The issue with research points not being shown by agent show info has been resolved.
It was a display bug. Your RP should be intact.
Second point: I think it's obvious that most of you have never worked in a service position, or forgot what it's like. Heres a tip. Don't be a jerk to the people you expect to help you. If you're polite to them, they'll be ALOT more likely to help you out.
Think about it. If some jerkoff customer sent you an email that basically says: "Your product is crap, you suck and should be fired. I hate you. Die. NOW HELP ME!" something tells me that you aren't going to leap at the opportunity to make said jerkoff happy. Oh sure, you'll "assist them with their issue" to the minimum extent required by your job description, then send em packing.
Follow the golden rule. Treat other how you expect to be treated, and expect to be treated the same way you treat people.

Thats odd. I used to work in a service position, and because of how important average customer call time was to my performance evaluations (and raises), anyone who was nice basically got politely told to **** off. The only people who I ever took the time to help were the jackasses who forced me to. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

Originally by: Omniwar I once lost loads of named items I was escrowing to my alt in the first days of its release, no one claimed it and it just vanished, my wallet logs showed the taking of ISK for the escrow but it was said after my petiton that no logs were found that I ever made any escrows in the game, my wallet proved it and I told them that but I was just simply ignored by a bunch of people who were just to lazy to check info on my wallet even though they do get paid to do so.
I smell the same happening here¦I¦m afraid.
yet another example of the GM's screwing everyone over. These guys probably dont even play the game, why dont you guys hire some people that do, and arent a bunch of snipped Mr. PeaceMaker

Well, that's over 3,000 reads this post has had now. That's 3,000 folk wondering whether CCP will do the right thing and give this guy his research points or just ignore him.
My guess is there's probably a good few people with trial accounts among those 3,000, watching to see how they can expect customer service in EVE to be if they sign up. I'd say that CCP has a great opportunity here to show the community it will do the right thing. It also has a great opportunity to show them it doesn't give a damn. I'll keep my fingers crossed....

If this happened to me and I got zero compensation I would probably quit and try to take as many people with me.

This totally sucks man and I feel for your loss and I would not be surprised if you would quit the game to be honest
I agree but... will you not be sad one of your corpmates will loose his job? 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

Give him his points back. Or at least something! TII S Hybrid ammo prolly wouldn't help...
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

Originally by: Aelius Although you have also some fault for taking 5 months to check the info on your agent, you are a paying costumer and a paying costumer must always be treated with respect.
They must have some kind of records showing how many missions you did and make an average RP from that.
I have bad dreams about bugs and i always check and double check and triple check (etc etc) all the important things i do in EVE.
Although you are competition in the R&D area i wish you the best of luck dealing with those aparently incompetent GMs.
PS: All my past problems with bugs have been solved very well by the GMs and i cannot complain about them, so im just taking that your story is true.
Fault, why would it be his fault he didnt check an obscure menu that shouldnt have happened in the first place thanks to some poorly designed interface bug.

So far this post has been viewed 2200 times. Taking care of the posters problem would have be easy and fast, and not insignificantly, the right thing to do. Instead, subscribers and potential subscribers(me), are all reading about how this poor guy just lost 5 monhts work.
Being a new player I am wondering if I should cut my losses now and play a different game, or canI count on a certain level of support down the road if something happens thats the PROGRAMMERS FAULT. This thread certainly has the answer to that question.
In todays world, service is everything. Games that dont have good service, turn into old memories.
I agree here. Something has to change with CCPs customer service. The mind numbing research monotony sucks too. The whole research system sucks (sorry CCP EvE is a great idea but the lottery pit of despair sucks ballz). I love the game but the stupid research monotony pi$$es me off. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

Reishha I think you are in cloud cuckoo land for what its worth. To try and pass the blame onto me is quite frankly insane. I dont know all the ins and outs of EVE and should not be expected to. When I visit my Research agent and he gives me option to STOP research and also mails me saying 'well done this will further our research' or 'we've hit a snag' that kind of indicates that he IS WORKING.
*snip*
Bob Ghengiskhan, thankyou for your support ...and Boonkai I can only dream
And for the record to those talking about Customer Services. I work in a Customer Services dept for one of the worlds largest companies so pls dont lecture me about how to treat the staff. I dont feel Ive been particulary rude and my initial petition was VERY polite and even admitted perhaps I was jumping the gun.
The response clearly indicated the absolute bare minimum had been done for me without even taking into account what Id lost. Not even an apology and I dont feel Im asking for anymore than I deserve.
A true professional outfit treats the nice customers the same as the *******s. The jerk offs as you put them (although I dont think Ive qualified as that) do eventually get better service if they rant because a customer is a customer.
