When Im being hunted I sometimes will warp to a safe and then align to a gate, every 2 minutes I drop a container to decloak any covert that might be following me. My philosophy is if a player can do it and its not too much trouble they should be required to provide their own security. Simply dropping a cargo container at the warp in will ensure that security is taken care of for 2 hours or more. There is NO reason for beacons to exist. Ganking Buddhist Nun
Mr Reason	Posted - 2009.04.23 11:17:00 - [153] The change of gassclouds not decloaking anymore doens't have to do with missions perse; there's many systems that have gassclouds in them that can be annoying. Main station in Amarr for instance, you couldn't cloak at it due to the gass cloud. I understand and agree to the fact that the beacon shouldn't be there in the first place, from a player-driven pvp game POV it's just not logical. But yelling in GD making a fool of yourself isn't helping, especially not when you reward the obvious trolls by replying as you do :) You want to change it make a well structured post in the assembly hall.

From a story point the Beacons are there for the acceleration gates to have something to aim at. There is a valid story reason why you need the gates. You do know that CCP just recently introduced some 2000 or so systems full of gas clouds that have amazingly annoying NPC's in them which are able to 1 volley a covops ship right?
