Really easy tweak, Swap the recover probes button with the reconnect to lost probes button. More than a few times my poor (i suppose) mousing skills have pulled my drones back in with a simply misclick on the adjacent button. If these 2 buttons are switched at least you wouldn't lose your probe positioning.
If swapping a button is too easy, perhaps allowing the user to cancel the reconnect to lost probes. It seems there is a short delay, could a confirm dialog or some keystroke be implemented?
Appologies for posting this all over the forums. I could not find a seemingly appropiate place to post this suggestion.

Swap the recover probes button with the reconnect to lost probes button. More than a few times my inaccurate mousing skills have pulled my probes back in with a simply misclick on the 'Recover Probes' button adjacent to the intended target 'Analyze' button. If these 2 buttons are swapped a misclick next to analyze would simply click reconnect to lost probes, likely having no effect. At least you wouldn't lose your probe positioning.

Would only be of convenience for players, by reducing cluttering in the player item hangar (yes, I know what station containers are, and no, they suck)
I'm new to EVE, but this a no-brainer. Some manner of station hangar item management would do wonders to my basic satisfaction with the in-game UI.
I also presume that with proper implementation, such an idea would significantly reduce database queries/accesses and improve overall server performance.
One implementation would involve the addition of user-created subgroups or folders for station item hangars (but could also be applied to individual containers). Items could be manually placed in subgroups and/or (better) the subgroups could be user configurable by item type or class. A 'sort to subgroup type' variable could then be added to the item 'sort' menu.
A similar, but more limited, functionality could be gained by granting the various station containers a configurable sort function (i.e. user configures a container to store all ore and mineral types, or all ballistic ammunition types, or all tag types, etc).
It makes little sense to have players open an station item hanger and sort through 500+ different items when a simple user-created subgroup implementation with a sort function could cut that number down by a substantial percentage while improving item management functionality. Further, as there would seemingly be no need for the database to immediately access every item contained in a subgroup, the overall server load should see some improvement.
tl;dr: Second.

eeeeee. Why don't you get yourself a couple of station/giant container and start sorting out stuff.
I started doing it recently and it works wonder. My hangar is now clean and shiny ... Might be because of the janitors...
It have only 1 problem (and not it's not because the guards dogs ate a few janitors) If I'm not in the station I don't know what's in a can. Please make cans accessible by the assess window. ^^

Edited by: Kessiaan on 12/07/2009 06:46:38 Updating the combat log of all parties involving in a kill, not just the guy that died and whoever got the killing blow.
The current system is a holdover from when you got actual killmails and it blows if you're in a mixed group - there's always some jackass that doesn't post a KM so you have go track it down.
Given the importance of KMs I'm really surprised this has never been fixed. If the KM vanishes into a black hole of doom the kill may as well have never happened.

i approve of lots of stuff here :)
1. ctrl+clicking to lock/unlock stuff = bad, find another key ctrl is used to select stuff one by one and do mass operations on them
2. WE REALLY NEED A WAY: To monitor whats happening to our CAPACITORS when fighting im a carrier pilot, and I WANT TO SEE ___REAL TIME__ if im being cap drained -- ON SCREEN and i want to see DELTA CAP --- ON SCREEN and i want to see NUMBERS IN THE LOG AS WELL
thank you very much for making this feature faster than humanly possible thanks again thanks, your incessantly bickering friend above all, Ardetia

Very good suggestions in this thread, now if only CCP would acknowledge them.
Some comments to selected propositions:
------------
1. Like the op said, this really is blatantly obvious.
4. I think this isn't so much needed anymore as we have the search box for hangar, which is a godsend when you are trying to find something fast.
10. There currently is an option to have just a static image as station environment.
12. While this would be somewhat added convenience, pausing and restarting training when you need to do it (not all that often) isn't really that big of a annoyance.
14. This would be very nice.
15. True.
16-17 Implementing these would make the game SO MUCH BETTER it isn't even funny.
19. This would be good.
20. I don't see a reason why this couldn't be implemented.
24. This would be awesome.

CCP look at OPs suggestions. They are awesome. And they don't include some bragging right ego maniacal nerf this or that propositions. These will actually improve the game in small but noticeable ways. |

i apologize if someone already mentioned this, as i didnt have the time to read the entire post, but something that is REALLY missing from this game is percent indicators of shield/armor/struct left on a target. Take for example when i'm shooting a pos, i want to know how much shield is left (in a percent) so i know how close it is to being in reinforced. We already can see our own ships shield/armor/struct %, why not be able to see that on all our targets, etc???

add some highlight to arrows in probe/scanning sphere u know no one wanna be blind.. put some space beetween butons in scan window like a cm scan / recall probes / reconnect etc.. its realy sucky thing to press wrong buton and launch same probes again.. give a color to different kind signatures after u found what they are ec = grav : green, radar : blue, magneto : red, etc... for god sake make a buffer memory or something for scanning thing we'r living at some distant future.. we should have more complicate and "clever" computer with us so after "ignoring signature" u dont need to check what it was.. /scan it found it and ignore but when u put your probes at different location its forgot what that signature even after u found what it was.../

Fitting Screen should have grouping. (maybe it does. cannot find)
Saved Ship Layouts browser should have a "Show Layouts for Current Ship Only" toggle. (maybe it does. cannot find)
Edit: Can't put that.

i have one.
Directional scanner should recognize bloody AU units since it is the default celestial measurement in Eve.
Better option would be that on the direction scanner interface there should be 2 inputs, 1 in metric, the other in Astronomical Units, linked together so you can type in either box and it updates the other.

This was commented on by a dev, somewhere, that it would cause too much of a resource killer and won't be implemented. Sorry if I can't find the dev post, it is here.. somewhere...
