The moa almost looks good from the front with its menacing missile bay. If only they had chopped the head off.
I have to agree it's the ugliest hull.

There are no ugly ships, little Imicus. CCP only made you different from the other ships. You're special.

I feel weird now for thinking that the moa hull is pretty sexy I mean, it looks weird and ugly at first, but then its lopsidedness kinda grows on you (onyx = lopsided in BLACK mmm <3)

I did not want anyone to think that it was anything greater than absolute 0, because I think it is THAT ugly. Dude, your chin...

I like most of the Gallente, Minmatar and Caldari ships.
IMO the ugliest ship there is in the game is the Maller. Those tiny little wings on the back annoy the hell out of me. Tear-stained ISK is the best kind of ISK. |

Ohh this is hard umm...
Maller? Maybe, it was worse on classic with the weird window really.
Scorpion possibly with that really weird and huge wing on one side and a stump on the other.
Imicus doesn't count as a ship as it was the result of CCP giving LSD to a drunken monkey, giving it a pen then trying to make a ship look like said the drawing.

Moa hull is PURE SEX; anyone disagreeing is ALMOST as bad as those saying the Blackbird hull is ugly.
They probably just want to rub their hands all over smooth turds like the dominix and worry they'd jam a finger if they tried that on a Moa or BB. --

I thought the Moa was a pretty bizzare looking ride, but it's grown on me. I still think it's bizzare from the aft though - it looks nicely imposing from the front. I notice that the newer Caldari designs (Drake and Rokh) don't look all nonsensical and are far more Serious Efficiency. Oh, and symmetry!
Most Gallente ships look like turds that have been kiln-fired and spray-painted metallic silver. The only one I really like is the Vexor, but there's a couple others that aren't too bad.

Helios is the ugliest bar none.
You don't even need to worry about getting decloaked as any enemies will be so horrified at the sight of it that they'll forget to fire.
Or maybe it was anyone who sees it will destroy it out of reflex KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE!!

I personally find it strange that people think that the moa could possibly be the ugliest ship in the game when it looks better than the badger series, iteron series, sigil, imicus, navy comet, obelisk, stabber, thanatos, archon, apocalypse, armageddon, tempest, cyclone, phoenix, any dedicated mining platform, omen, augoror, blackbird, rupture, thrasher, and most of their T2 and faction variants.
The onyx skin on the moa hull isn't that bad either, but the eagle skin blows, big time. Seriously, freaking, blows. The eagle looks like a nifty ship on paper for the sort of thing I like to do, but in the game I'd be more embarassed to undock in it than I would be to undock in a hulk. ____________________

I like most of the ships in eve, but-
The APOC, I hate the thing for having been fixed as far as bonuses but not hull shape. I throw up a little every time I board the space-faring emaciated aardvark.
Also yeah the Burst. Where the hell does is store all the ore it mines? It's basically a flying framework with no guts. Lucky though that one does only has to fly it for a short time as a noob.
Caldari ships are more confusing than irritating and nausea-inducing I find.

The old Heilos was easily one of the most beutifull ships of the game. Then CCP nerfed the looks of it...

Where to start? Considering that we're dealing with space friction and odd tastes, it's logical that some odd designs should crop up. It also seems rather typical that battleships end up the most dreadfully looking of ships in all races' lineups, probably because they have to be such great big lumps. Still, it really depends on your taste which you find most horrible, but that's where it's so convenient that people are all more or less of a somewhat similar disposition when it comes to aesthetic appreciation.
The Caldari find many somewhat appearance-disadvantaged ships in their lineup, any artistry but function not being their foremost priority. On the whole though, for overall ugliest ship it's a tight competition between the Bantam, the Osprey and the Raven, all of them lumpy and spiky and disfigured in their own little ways.
While the Gallente could be said to have the most idealistic ideas of design around in New Eden, we all know that they are the sort of people who (pretend to) appreciate postmodern art, hence their ship designs. It's hard to find a more impressive ball of space snot than the Celestis or a more massive and deadly potato than a Dominix. Some military strategists argue that the odd and disturbing designs of Gallente ships are meant to confuse attackers and to discourage them from firing at actually vital ship components. Others speculate that to compensate for theirs currently being the apparently underpowered selection of ships, the Gallente are developing and gradually testing the tactic of making a ship so hideous to look at that enemies will flee or be so disgusted as to be unable to fight merely by looking at it.
As the Amarr are very big on predetermined criteria and standards, and have their iconography and ideas of an idealized world, theirs is the naturally most straight-edged design philosophy. It does not produce any astoundingly beautiful designs that can only come from free thinking and accidental brilliance, such as the Merlin or the Maelstrom, but performs generally far more decently across the board. The more notable examples of Amarr ugliness would likely be the Coercer and the Prophecy.
And where to start with the Minmatar? They have the most mixed lineup of ships of all the races, and this even goes so far as to include their aesthetics. Outstanding examples of brilliance can be noted, but as that is not the subject of this thread, the much maligned examples of rusty haphazardness will be instead. The Rupture is regular and symmetrical and no less hideous for that, and the Typhoon has been compared to an old vacuum cleaner. _________________________________________________________

That was indeed an interesting post, i enjoyed reading it. And feel the need to write something "more seriuos" too. But, i am not a designer and i little understand art but i have to agree with you.
As we see in this thread ppl name variuos ships as "horrible looking" or "good looking", and while some name one ship as horrible, other may name same ship as most avesome looking ship ever. It is all the matter of personal taste as i see it. EVE has plenty of ships all with specific designs for each faction and each with design pros and flaws and with specific thought behind them and that is why i like this game so much, it is quite realistacly made including as much details as possible, while many other games just aim to be graphicaly apealing to everyone, while in the end noone can look at those games becouse of too much details and other blinking spalshing stuff except kids, becouse they tend to like bright collours and stuff :-)
Really i created this topic becouse i am new pilot and have not yet seen many ships and ppl who named ugly ships have showed me some ships i even did not know they egzisted :) And i realy see that there is no such thing as real ugly design that all would agree on, and that just show how well made this game is :)
Well and as i see so far we can call Imicus the ugliest of the ugly, but yet again, as you have stated, it's ugliness does serve a purpose!

I mean, those ships look like they were designed as a part of "bring your blind, ******ed kid to work day."
It's a good thing that Caldari has some of the best looking ships to make up for it...
Kestrel/Manticore is pure sex Cormorant/Flycatcher is amazing Ferox/nighthawk/vulture is beautiful Merlin/harpy is great but I hate the colorscheme on the Hawk Phoenix looks like a giant ****ing gun....pure awesome Rokh is amazing looking (and a great ship, easily my favorite BS) Caracal/Caerberus is a strange case. It's simultaneously ungainly and alluring in ways I can't explain.

couldn't agree more. When you used to do an info search for this ship you could only see a pic from the complete side ( misleading ). It wasn't until they added the preview feature that I spun the ship picture around and saw the other side and said " WTF??!!". Oh...and to add to the " incomplete " ship choices; the ABADDON! It looks like they started building it from the aft forward and then ran out of funding for the nose! >_<
