It could've been bring your kids to work day and they pulled all the leads out to use as a skipping ropes, it'd still be reported as a database issue.

I doubt those services have to go through anything comparable to the amount of code and database changes that EVE has to be subject to in order to keep us entertained. With games you have to juggle between stability and evolving code.
