1) Welcome to eve.
2) No, unscheduled downtime is actually not very common.
3) You will enjoy eve and be a happier person if you understand that getting upset over some unscheduled downtime is just silly. Eve is massive and complex, and unlike other MMO's - we're all on one server together. There's going to be some unscheduled downtime from time to time, and you really should try to resist jumping on the whine whine whine bandwagon, cuz it's really lame and shows the rest of the universe that you are either clueless or a teenager or both :P |

I've been playing through Wasteland (1985 - Interplay) over this last week, and for a game that old and on the limited hardware of a c64 - it's actually pretty darn good :) |

Edit: Yea, I hit the button *once* and it ended up posting it 3 times... When I posted at first the forum stopped working, so its a good bet that had something to do with it. |

now THAT was programming ! everything was done in assembler because we did not have compilers. and only 4 registries to use in that processor :) ANY mistake was major.
now they dont care, they expect compiler to fix everything for them.

Just got kicked. Now it gives "Connection to server is closed" message upon attempt to reconnect.
