I agree taking advantage of the situation and letting Kenny get trampled was the best thing Atlas ever did. Atlas has benefited significantly from it.
for historical record Atlas and the rest of superfreinds was disgusted by the actions and where willing to leave our current theaters to assist in delve. I think you're just trolling on the metagaming part.
About the sheer numbers, this is one of those myths that will probably last until the servers shut down. I remember quite clearly, the very night before the PR- camp began, in Eurotime we had around 400 pilots in QY6 to their 600 in J-L. Instead of engaging, they kinda hanged around, doing... who knows what.
We don't believe this was planned all along, and if it was, it was a dumb plan. -clp

For the same reasons you claim their self-sacrifice is in fact the reason why they are fools. I suggested on caod when the Delve invasion was working well that Kenny relocate and build up in another region. They could have actually fought on the front lines while setting up elsewhere. Instead they greedily took R64s off of their pets while refusing to engage.

Had they shown any sense of urgency, AAA and co could have spammed out our previous holdings in the east in less than two weeks and come to Kenzoku's assistance long before any of the station constellations in Delve gained Goonswarm Sov3. For all talk of the numbers arrayed against you, we saw in 49- that the 25 or so alliances on Kenny's side are capable of locking down and purging a system with 1400 characters when they choose to. Instead they dragged their heels after they took Feythabolis and Tenerifis, and it wasn't until more than a month after the disbanding that they deployed to the west in any significant strength.
Saying that the priority was spamming our undefended systems in Feyth and Tenerifis is all very well (although doing so probably boosted Goonswarm's participation in Delve as it made clear that if we didn't take Delve it was back to Syndicate), but I'm sure that after taking Feyth and Tenerifis, sitting on them for a few weeks doing nothing while Kenzoku's towers were scoured from Delve and their pilots were camped into PR- wasn't part of Molle's masterplan.

Molle didn't seem to agree with you when this first happened:
Quote: The chief executive of the world's biggest corporation gets a phone call in the middle of the night. Thanks to industrial espionage, the company has been bankrupted, assets stripped, bank accounts emptied. When trading starts the next day, even the company name will be gone.
If this were real life, the executive might consider jumping out the window. But in the online game of EVE Online, it's all part of the fun.
"It is another challenge," said Par Molen, the leader of the "corporation" Band of Brothers (BoB), who got the late-night call.
"That's what we live for."
Dianabolic was pushing a similar line on EVE-Radio after it happened.
Unfortunately Ken was more concerned with plausible deniability than ~good fights~ and so we find ourselves at this juncture. Kenny can argue impossibility until they're red in the face, but they stopped defending long before the outcome was determined.

I have always argued that CCP needs to implement better controls at the top end of alliance and corp management. The tools we posess and the controls we can implement are extremely limited. I've always said this and I still think we do.
With that said, we have the rules CCP has implemented and they are set in stone. After that everything is fair game and I mean everything. Years ago we in RZR handicapped ourselves by trying to hold ourselves to higher standards, that is gone. We will sink to any level that is allowed by CCP to achieve victory, anything else is just stupid. If we can get an edge by doing something that isn't against the letter of the law, we will.
With that out of the way. The sheer numbers thingy is exaggerated. We had 5-700 people moving into Delve, we had those numbers coordinated and we had big numbers 24/7 with FC's pulling double shifts to make sure we had plenty overlap. That's OHGOD/PL/SOT/TCF/RZR/RAWR/KIA/ZAF. We have done this campaign with more or less those exact same entities. KEN has intermittently outblobbed us heavily but they've lacked the stamina or organisation to keep it up. Once in 49-U they had 1200 pilots, it's a record afaik and our side has never been really close to 1k even.
Your side had a very good opportunity to throw everything into Delve manpower wise and match us, you could very likely have won that fight or atleast stalled it for four weeks to start gaining sov3 again all while spamming the regions you focused to instead choose on. Moving to Delve while spamming Detorid etc. was the logical choice, it was what we unanimously thought you would do. It was what we 100 times out of 100 would do. In short, it was the biggest strategical blunder your side has ever done and it's cost KEN fortress Delve I'm pretty sure. --- "Cutting Edge 4 Life" |

Sad to see it, but the goonies are right, Bob did throw in the towel after just a few days, granted they got kicked square in the nuts hardcore by Haargoth. They still failed to meet the standard 'elite' performance they had always preached themselves to be.
It sucks because everyone loves to hate BoB, but we all really expected them to go out with a bang, (if ever) instead of whimpering down to nothingness.
Only question is when do they just let go and move on. I really don't think they'll ever be able to recapture Delve/Querious/Period Basis, although I would like them to. Not with the continous presence of the NC/Goons/PL on a moments notice to jumpclone to a staged dread fleet.

What it all comes down to is the quality of allies Goons have over Kenzoku. The false sense of "brotherhood" Kenzoku pays lip service to doesn't make them any more efficient during combat or anything at all really.
"Hate" for Goons isn't an effective rallying cry either, because everyone secretly wants to be a Goon.

Part #1
Quote: this post is wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. Allow me to hurf blurf a moment: It is a pretty funny notion that our enemies are dumb enough to decide that spamming towers in undefended space 4 regions away from the front lines is any excuse not to defend delve in its short window of sov1&2. There was NO TIME LIMIT down south. And allied fleets are always consolidated for the big fights and scouting them is not difficult.
- A land grab of undefended space can only be done in the way it was by both ûA- and GS and thatÆs all out and as fast as possible with out looking back. Kens Allies had to START knocking down old GS space against Sov 3 & 4 where the GS NAP train was starting with a clean slate at Sov-1à.. you my friend are wrong. The Allied fleets always being consolidated notion is just plain bs. I recall sitting in G-TT waiting to bridge while TCF was trying to get in the back door of 49 and GS through another etc. Then for ôsmallö fights of about 200+ there is always an ambush Fleet waiting along with the ôTripple DDö button at the readyàà yeah thatÆs easy to defend againstà..
Quote: The southern russians were more interested in a land grab. Delve fell after only a couple attempts at a defense by kudozu. They gave up, sat down, and let us fortify our new home, because without AAA, SE, ROL etc. goku will not even attmpt to fight.
As the poster above you pointed out they could have rebuilt a cap fleet, or could have done a mass break out (despite the numbers in the camp). The Kenny obsession with trying not to lose any ships meant that they sat in the station and didn't bother to log in. -A- were on their way to help break out their fleet and Kenny turned around and told them that they didn't want their help. In the month that they were spinning in stations we were knocking over all of their towers.
Again, Ken knew the best thing for the situation was their Allies capturing the old GS space. Yeah Ken could have ôslowedö the NAP train progress by throwing themselves under the wheels a few time as a speed bump but they got trapped in a station by a month long cookout while the NAP train rampaged through. Again, gf by the NAP train left clicking and then station camping for a month to take the regions. As we saw, -A- could have broken them out at any point but the plan was to make sure the old GS space was secured.
Quote: The sov 1 argument isn't very interesting as all we would discuss the complete incompetence of internal security in Kenny. That was a timebomb waiting to happen. It's great spouting propaganda claiming that it is the only reason why Kenny lost Delve, but this admits that the only reason why they had space in the first place was because of existing sov and that they couldn't hold any space if required.
WTF? I actually had to re-read this statement to make sure itÆs clear you have no idea how anyone holds space in this gameà Continued..

So with this statement you have ûA- running around like idiots spamming towers, tearing down old GS Sov 3 & 4 space, while gearing up to put forth a huge effort on two fronts for months to come. Why would Ken or anyone expect ûA- to do this? Because they are nice? Back to the numbers statement regarding 49- and 1,400 in localàà.itÆs happened a couple of times to try and fend off massive assaults and thatÆs it. Again you point to isolated incidents like this to plug huge holes in your attempt to prove taking these regions was ôEpicö.
Quote: Saying that the priority was spamming our undefended systems in Feyth and Tenerifis is all very well (although doing so probably boosted Goonswarm's participation in Delve as it made clear that if we didn't take Delve it was back to Syndicate), but I'm sure that after taking Feyth and Tenerifis, sitting on them for a few weeks doing nothing while Kenzoku's towers were scoured from Delve and their pilots were camped into PR- wasn't part of Molle's masterplan.
I wouldnÆt say it was part of any plan but with Ken running around 3 Sov-1 Regions trying to put down POS spamming fires, defending multiple system POS take downs, and coordinating evacs of assets across all regions and then getting camped in, I could see the response from ûA- being just what it was. And again, its not just spamming towers in F&T, you keep glossing over the fact that they needed to take down Sov 3 & 4 systems which can take a while at any pace.
Quote: With that out of the way. The sheer numbers thingy is exaggerated. We had 5-700 people moving into Delve, we had those numbers coordinated and we had big numbers 24/7 with FC's pulling double shifts to make sure we had plenty overlap. Once in 49-U they had 1200 pilots, it's a record afaik and our side has never been really close to 1k even.
So your point here is to say that you have consistently had a huge presence during this land grab because the NAP train spans all time zones and that Ken showed the ability to field more numbers on a couple of occasions so they could have stopped all this from happening? Again, the South and East was on fire, do you try and defend 3 Sov-1 Regions or do you rush now unoccupied Sov-3 & 4 Regions and try and break them in time just incase GS does not take Delve and wants to come back? I think we all know the answer to this one.

The only thing that was "Epic" about taking Delve was the epic hilarity of - after all the "WE'LL FIGHT YOU ON THE BEACHES, BLAH BLAH <INSERT 300 SCRIPT HERE>, YOU'LL NEVER TAKE DELVE" spouted from RKZ after the buttan push - watching RKZ's attempt at defence collapse after under a week of fighting, 2 lost motherships (the AXE one was a moran tho), 1 lost titan... and then disappearing for a month while goons sat AFK in bubbles in PR-.
So basically after 4 years of being proclaimed as the best alliance in the game, turning arrogant, fat and lazy while holding the best regions in the game and not really having a single threat to their space in that time, they collapsed just as quickly as any of the hundreds of ****ty alliances they killed during their "glory years"

....'nothing short of omnipotence itself'?
We're throwing stones because they have tried to build themselves up as some sort of untouchable entity... when in fact they were just hiding behind a giant Sov3/4 wall with the ability to throw untold trillions of isk worth of superior ships at Alliances and wining battles by exploiting bad mechanics (remote doomsdays, hiding poses via Gridfu, pos bowling).
As soon as the field was equalized (Sov3 drop, an alliance with the ability to field the same amount of T2 battleships/cap ships/titans and the majority of the major exploits removed (i.e. titans nerfed)) they crumpled faster than many of their buffer pets.
Now, this once self declared omnipotent Alliance, has lost everything and become no better than some pirate alliance while at the same time being played as a pawn in the ongoing game of 0.0 warfare....
