Dear CCP guys,
I know you're trying hard every day and night to make EVE as most enjoyable as it can be. However some changes that came in with Apocrypha and Quantum Rise give reason for corrections.
I'm talking about EVE online sounds here. To put it in short: Certain systems create so much noise that you can't hear the vital ones. Please lower the volume for non vital systems or silence them totally.
Vital Ship/System sounds are - Engines - Weapons (Turrets & Launchers) - Mining Lasers - Hits from Turrets & Missiles
Nonvital ship sound are - Hardeners - Cloaking Device - Shield Boosters / Armor Repairer
I would like you to give us a statement at least, whether you intend to change this or work on that problem or see it as not relevant. It also was an issue in this thread http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1078792&page=1 but so far didn't see any official CCP feedback.
Many thanks in advance

Yes. I feel like there's a number of sound bugs beyond this. And I for one am always having to re-adjust my volume levels so I can hear the vital ship sounds.... |

Topic bumped.
I wonder what does one have to do, in order to get an feedback from CCP of some kind?

What can I say but I can't hear much now and I could hear stuff before. I want to hear stuff again.

CCP never gives feedback in here.

Actually, it does happen. However the respondant is usually CCP PrismX and the response is usually "salvaging is working as intended and we like it this way"

Uhm, so where do I have to send my concern to that CCP recognizes? I thought in public forum would be a good place as I'm not the only person complaining about this matter :(

I posted a similar thread to this one just in the last two days. I'm getting all the problems others have mentioned plus one more.
It seems that when I'm in my Obelisk running around the jump gate hum gets stuck on. I go into warp I still have the hum, I dock and I still have the hum. After awhile I just turn sound off until the next time I relog.
I think they might be doing priority sorting on the sounds. If I pull the camera back out of range of my ship's hardners their sound drops out and combat sounds come back. Then when I zoom in, the combat sounds fade between attacks and the hardner hum comes right back. The problem is new combat sounds should be prioritized higher so they come in above the hum and "push it back down" but they don't. Maybe they aren't doing insertion sort on this or some sounds are missing their priority values.
----- I've said it before, I'll say it again - CCP hates logistics players. FIX THE CONTAINERS! |

Topic supported. There should be some sort of advanced sound settings for which sounds to turn up/down. |

I will occasionally lose audio completely in one ear while in my solar system map or while activating acceleration gates. Weird I know. The only way to fix the map one is the close the map and re-open it. The fix the AG bug, I have to swivel my camera drone around.
This appears to only occur from my analogue output, not with USB. I have seen this bug on two separate motherboards from two separate manufacturers, but both have a Realtek audio controller. Both have up to date drivers. Both run Vista, though one is 64 bit, the other is not. Also, both run the full version of eve premium. ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

They pimped the audio system, accidently broken it, and they will fix it again.
Since they know its broken there is no reason for feedback. It would look like 'Yay its broken, we will fix it soon' either.
Be patient. |

I get nasty pops and dropouts when I've got the map open near a stargate or anywhere where there are lots of sounds being played at once. It's very disorientating and the only solution I've found is spinning the camera around in space, or disabling audio and re-enabling it again.
Please fix the sound pops & dropouts CCP |

Hmm... please report the bugs here:

Concrete bug reports posted in this thread will not reach the devs so they cannot look at. |

"You telling me EVE has sound ?"
No really I do agree the sound issues have caused me to disable all but menu sounds from EVE... mostly due to lag the sound can cause or the issue with some small thing being louder than a cruise missile hitting the ship.
I mostly was upset to find out Strip Miners now sound like a pansy mining laser with the sound matching the visual cycle and removing that beastly sound it once had before 1.1 patch.
Either way, waiting on another patch or the next expansion to see what turns up there... |

Ausser> Can you tell me where CCP says about they've broken the sounds and are about to fix it? I haven't found anything specific on that topic so far and I'd hate to see the next update come out with still broken sounds. This is an important factor for this game and I'd like to have CCP absolutely recognize it. Unless there is an official statement, I will still worry.
