Greetings capsuleers,
I have just started following this rather amusing conversation. The first amusing snippet was this:
AkaiDruiD II wrote:Let's save this convo for after the Apocalypse, when ur porshe is outta gas and ur gun is out of bullets. I will be on the horse carrying the 2 samurai swords ;)
From the Hiro Protagonist immitator, this is rather amusing. I rarely see such posturing, especially in New Eden so this was rather refreshing. But ... there is more!
AkaiDruiD II wrote:My argument is if there was no DOS, there would be no 'Windows'. And if there were no 'Windows' there would STILL be DOS. I've used pc's b4 there were 'windows'. 'Windows' is better in the sense that for ur simple minds, little pretty pictures are easier for u to comprehend ;) But with one line of assembly code written in a DOS environment, all ur pretty little pictures will burn. Also assembly coding or any other coding is very tedious in a DOS environment, so in that case, a 'windows' type environment is preferred. But in the end...it comes down to DOS, and on/off registers....
I like how he pretends to know what he is talking about by sprinkling it with just enough to sound intelligent to everyone except those who really understand such things. As if DOS is the Genesis of it all.
AkaiDruiD wrote:There have been a few times where a few lamers didn't like the opinions of others. It was a forum regarding hardware oc'ing and stuff, in any case, a cpl of loudmouths, like urself, was starting to talk sh!t to me, and when my defensive reply was... let's say, "louder". A friend of theirs, who apparently modded that forum, made the attempt to ban me from that site. So if I were to type it in the address bar, the only page that showed was a blank one that said "you have been banned from this website server". But, being the less-fortunate that loudmouths are, I returned to that forum immediately after receiving that page and expressed my disappointment with their futile & childish act.
Ah, the gift that keeps on giving. The veiled threat of retaliation ... be warned. He's gone to bed twice now.
Regards and thanks,

There are almost no truly stupid players in EVE. We understand how the new Inventory window works. We just think it sucks donkey balls.

I'm not. I'm a regular player who lives in a POS. I am much soothed by the promise of fixing that interaction, and it reminds me why I used to have a policy of not playing for a week after updates.
All that being said, I would be a lot happier if CCP had just come out and said that "confounding the botters" for a few days or weeks was their ultimate goal. Though the botters will likely be back before me. |

What is with the community behind this game? The developer has every right to change something to what they think is better for the interface the players use. There's no issue with the change, everything feels more streamlined and I use less space.
If you're seriously going to shed tears over each change that happens per patch, you may as well unsubscribe without the tears on the forums and spend your time, oh I don't know, doing something productive. Then people might not get scared off by the ass-hattery that constantly rears it's ugly head. |

Thinking requires more clicks than reacting, obviously that just won't do. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.

True. Once un-subscribed it is very hard to be affected by EVE ass-hattery. Of all kinds.

My annual subscription fee of -ú89.99 is due for renewal in July.
Unless CCP introduce 'pay to win,' which would cause me to cancel my subscription, I think Eve is fantastic value for money (-ú7.50 per month), current inventory problems included.

My complaints about the "unified inventory system" for today:
Shift+Click opens a new window. If I want to move multiple containers from one storage location to another, I can't use the tree to select them. Perhaps "Open Container" could open the container in a new window like it used to (since clicking the container will "open" it in the unified view).
Hover-to-open delay is too short. My hover delay is about 0.3s before i realise that the item I'm dragging is sitting over the container I want (I'm working on a computer that runs EVE very slowly to start with, using remote control software to span multiple computers, so my mouse lags). So when I'm splitting a stack of items to various containers in a corporate hangar, I often end up with the container open, and need to reselect the source location again.
Opening the inventory is slow. I live in Australia, so building the list of everything in every container in every hangar takes a long time. How about only enumerating the contents of a container when I click on that container? I can't imagine how frustrating this would be for people in w-space operating out of a POS where there are thousands of items sitting in hangars around the place.
Opening the inventory defaults to my ships's cargo. When I land in a station, I usually want to interact with that station's item hangar first. Ideally I'd be able to drag any container to the Neocom as a "root". Then when I dock in that station again, the nominated containers would be available as buttons in the neocon. When I'm docking at a different station, those containers aren't accessible so don't show up. I can still open my ship's cargo with the Alt+C, right-click-on-ship and double-click-in-hangar shortcuts. There is no reason for unified inventory to open to the active ship's cargo hold too.
I'll be running missions later, so no doubt my other half will have some comments about unified inventory when the salvaging is done :)
Thank you for the effort, CCP UI folks. It is a pity that the initial state of the Unified Inventory work is so bad that people are actually unsubscribing because it has ruined their gameplay. Perhaps one day CCP will learn to not release new features until the flood of complaints from testing on Singularity have dwindled to a mere trickle?
But, it is the Summer expansion, which is the traditional time for CCP & Players to have their annual relationship shakedown.

I invite CCP to read the discussion here: http://www.evenews24.com/2012/05/23/dev-blog-unified-inventory-changes/ (do it lazies)
I wish that there was an option to turn off the new inventory as it has horrible lag, and is just **** when you need to loot something quick or reship without waiting 2 minutes for EVERYTHING to load (big issue if you have loads of mods/ ships).
You made CQ optional, and it should also be possible with this. Or maybe having the unified inventory as a seperate inventory and the old ones on the side (yes CCP the old ones were much faster, you've raped the performance)
that's all for now, and yes, confirming I am mad |

I dont like the way it always wants to open the darned thing, even if you are looking at a ship fitting window and click drones from it it still wants to open the inventory (shift click works, please make a "shift always pressed" option to inventory) http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4375/mynewsig2.jpg |

With the new system ccp "33,13" you force you to "pay" with more time. In EvE i did and do many things, from mining ,missioning, courier,wh, industry & marketing. The new system is against to all of this. So, at that point of time, the less harmfull from me, is the market. I will play market 1-2 months , after all you can get a very good isk from there, and we will see..... For all other , well most, is a battle with the clicks, who i dont like at all. Time to play some extra SC2 and H6. Cya ppl |
