Originally by: CCP Caedmon ....yes we will be tackling new forums for you....
The CSM does not appreciate my posting in their CSM meeting agenda threads -which I now know better not to do. So, with the new forums, please give thread originators the ability to specify who may contribute to a thread. This would have the effect of locking out all potential forum participants who are not given explicit permission to post in the CSM threads.
Will the current forum content be imported, migrated, or otherwise included in COSMOS?
Please don't use SpaceMates or Mates-In-Space as the release name for COSMOS.
Thank you.

Originally by: Shadow Box I like the idea of a social network tie-in, but had to point out one little thing from your "Agile Manifesto" that bugged me,
Simplicity--the art of maximizing the amount of work not done--is essential. (third line from the bottom)
Uh... is it supposed to say that?
Yes that's what it's supposed to say. And it isn't CCP's manifesto. It was written by The Agile Alliance at 'The Lodge at Snowbird' ski resort in the Wasatch mountains of Utah on February 11-13, 2001.

Sorry to completely out of topic but Tonto, you have stated in this thread http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=945299&page=1#4 that you use your own app to move the window because you only want it move, not resize. I am also looking for this, are you willing to share your app? ..................................................

Logically, this EVE social network should be called GAL-NET or Galactic Network and not COSMOS.
Could we please have some sort of Webalizer statistics type app for this? Instead of people//locations of the internet you would have people/systems/regions/items/markets in EVE.
ALSO! Please make an official integrated wikified Killboard.
edit;
An eve 'real world' player geography map would be great for face-to-face meetups and beat-ups.
If you make an i-phone app, could you add some sort of Goon proximity alert? Also, have a proximity alert for anyone in your kill rights list.
OMG! This man is The Messiah!!! He hath finally come to the forums and spewed excellent ideas upon the masses.
Seriously. I clapped. 7 |

Confirming COSMOS is a stupid name for this thing. (I have experience with Minmatar and Gallente COSMOS.)
I also find it unnecessary, but I guess thats a matter of taste. ------------------------------------ radiation... too much radiation... |

The name is certainly a matter of taste. I happen to think it fits this new social network system much better than the in-space-agents.
However, I don't know how the need for new forums and an adequate eve-mail client could be under any doubt (or be a matter of taste). You must be new to this place. ...

I don't mean to bring this up again since it's been half a month since the last post, but about the name.
Yes, GAL-NET is a better name to work with than COSMOS.

Could I request the ability to "skin" the site in colours other than Eve's default white on black? I'd like to be able to use it at work without being too obvious

So, what's going on with COSMOS?
Eh? Updates, plans, anything other than a 3 month old devblog?

Waste of fracking time. we don't need a myeveface.com . give us walking on stations, give us more T3 content, give us more Sov toys, make systems more expandable so 0.0 systems can easily hold up to 300 people at a time for the more frequent mid size fleet engagements and let us put more than 1 outpost in each system. BUILD ON WHAT YOU HAVE! not go off into the stratosphere on stuff we don't care about. the 2 way friend thing will make it difficult to track enemies (keep your friends close but enemies closer), and we won't be able to track logoffski traps. the 2 way friend thing is only necessary for mutually shared things such as fleet stuff. otherwise leave it out and let us be! expand on what is already in game or has been promised (walking on stations, Supercarriers, planet interaction). |

'Never heard the expression "Too many cooks spoil the broth", Theo?
CCP has enough development people and teams now that it'd be inefficient to assign them all to a single project. Three at once is probably the bare minimum.
