So a person who is "honorable" when dealing with monopoly money and has your back in an internet spaceship game is "honorable" in real life? Well lets see... Chriba is generaly considered the most trustworthy person in eve. Surely much "honor".
Will you be the first to rack up your credit cards, take out second morgage, liquidate your life savings, add to it the deed to your house and send it all to him? Surely he will be an honorable man and send it all back. Right?

I think he is not disparaging the US army. Merely pointing out that total air superiority, night vision gear and unmatched command and controll structure while fighting some of the most poor uneducated people in the world is not a good example of chivalric dueling. Though obviosly the right thing to do - save your own first, leave the fairness out of war.

Honour is a meaningless concept in War which is really what EVE PVP is about.
In WW2 generals like Montgomery, Patton or Rommel used every sneaky trick in the book they could think up and ensured numerical superiority long before they thought of doing battle. The same was true of all Generals. 'Honour' gets people killed in wars. It could be said it was the main reason for the Japanese defeat as 'Honour' meant they could not admit and therefore correct problems when they occurred.
Also some of you are mixing Honour and trust, the two are totally separate.

Well I think trustworthiness is a neccesarry condition to being honorable. (But not a sufficent one.) So they are not "totally separate" in my eyes.
Quick check with wiki (i know, i know) it seems i am not the only one to think so: "Honour or Honor (see spelling differences), (from the Latin word honos, honoris) is the evaluation of a person's trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions."

Right. If you tell him that you send it by misstake and want it back I`m willing to bet my own house that he would. People like that don`t go greedy overnight because they don`t value the money like your average Joe. That and they value other things more. ___________

While I'm a US citizen who has been highly critical (personally) of some of our previous administration's mistakes... I want you to do something for me:
When you get banned - think of me, sitting here all smug and happy laughing at what a total and complete simpleton you are.

Edited by: Cpt Cosmic on 18/08/2009 08:30:38 1. stop quarreling about spelling. honour = british english, honor = american. 2. honor is something that only those people get that deserve such a treatment: those are mostly your friends and in eve your corp mates, alliance mates, allies, buddies, people with special reputation and sometimes your own special archenemy. filthy sc*m will never get such a treatment.
