Yesterday one of my hulks got killed by 7 ships in in hi sec. All of these players had a security rating of -8 or worse. Im very cautious when I mine but you cant hide a Hulk very easily. Normally the high-sec game mechanics work pretty good. CCP has allowed Goonswarm to circumvent these game mechanics. Yes I know this is a sandbox but if someone is circumventing the game mechanics, its an exploit. Im not going to plead proverty. I have enouph ISK to play my three accounts for several more years. Why should I if game mechanics allow 7 players with a security rating less than -8 to play in high-sec with emmunity. When CCP has returned hi-sec to more reasonable game play I will return.
I think all high-sec players should think about taking a vacation from EVE. The only thing CCP cares about is monitary loss. This is the only way high-sec players can get thier attention.

Can you link the kill mail please cause if it took 7 ships to take you down that was a complete fail on their part. And secondly if there are that many -8 players running around in ships together, that would make them interesting targets. All I need is there names.

Please see my signature, it describes you. Also, you need to learn the meaning of the word contradiction. And as for miners not having hundreds of billions of ISK, perhaps you should talk to Chribba.

It may well have been the case that it didn't "need" 7 ships, but that they are just travelling in a pack to ensure that they can take out ANY target.

I got ganked a long time ago when I was in a retriever I think I was only a few months old if that, it was 3 or 4 cruisers that did it. All I could do was laugh, I remember watching in fascination thinking they not going to use all these ships but sure enough they did I tryed find it again a couple years ago but kill mails from that far back just don't exist. Wish I had saved it.
I think it was a month later that someone can flipped me in a BS. They warped off grid trying to get me to take it back. I did in a frigate with a tractor beam. I had a great laugh as they warped back to see me dragging the can away. BS not so good against a frigate.
Fun times.

Why do people always say this? If anyone has ever operated a real business themselves they would know it is more complicated than that.
Yes mass un-subbing gets their attention, this is a given because they are losing their money. But remember, real life isn't a game and there are real risks involved. Loss of funding causes real people to lose there jobs to try a cover the loss, with less staff... less things get done. As a result people make it hard for the business to achieve what you want. As I saw in another topic, CCP are looking at hiring more staff to respond to the ever increasing petitions to get a handle on things... they can't do this if they can't afford to pay them, and so petitions would continue to pile up if they couldn't afford more staff.
A mass exit of players and funding with it will cause CCP to even question whether they should even continue development of EvE (or dare I say it, sell the game out). CCP is a business, if EvE is no longer profitable they would be stupid to keep it running.
I'm not blaming you for all this of course :) but it seems to be the general thought line that I've seen throughout the forum 'unsub to get what I want'.
I'm also not saying no-one is allow to unsub for CCP's sake, I'm just making the point that less money has potential to do the opposite of player intentions on the overall scale.
What is evident is that CCP does love their game, EvE has a small player base compared to other MMO's. Other devs have shutdown their MMO's when they've had larger player bases then EvE does.
BTW: Ganking isn't an exploit. Ganking happens in real life every few minutes... is this an exploit of life? Should police insta-spawn to save you from a murderous psychopath?? |

While I don't agree with the wording of it, I am a firm believer in voting with your wallet. Even if it does nothing, at the end of the day, you're not paying for a product you aren't happy with. Now if it turns out the player subs drop like a rock, then its up to you to find like-minded players to fill the gap and keep the game you love alive.
You know what an answer is? It's a terminus -- an end. Answers are fine, but questions are where it's at. Questions bring us closer to understanding, -áthey can start a conversation or spark a revolution. So you might as well start asking... now.-á ~See you on the other side 6/6/12~ |

No you're not, you are anything but cautious. A cautious miner would dock if 7 players with a -8 sec status jumped into their system. One doesn't even need to be cautious to know to dock, they just need half a brain in their head. I dock if one person with negative sec status enters my system. They didn't get -8 sec standing by helping miners. So let's see the order of events went as followed: - 7 people with negative sec standing enter your system. You have an infallible intel tool called local chat, you fail to use it. Since their neagitve sec status you get a warning when they actually enter the system as well, you ignore it. - Gank ships flown by people with negative sec status enter the belt you are mining at. You ignore them and continue on mining. -You get a well deserved death.
You had ample opportunity to get away, no problem with game mechanics only problem lies with you. Learn to Eve son.

How do you figure these gankers have immunity? As soon as they enter the system anyone can fire on them, and everyone gets a warning that a pirate just entered the system. You just failed.
So in closing, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. You will not be missed by the community nor CCP. You said your self you don't pay for your accounts, you PLEX them, and have enough isk to continue doing so for years. So by you quitting how does CCP lose money again? Oh right they don't. |

Everything in the game that could be percieved as a negative by any player at any time is the fault of Goonswarm and the influence we obviously must have on CCP (did you hear 2 former members work for CCP now???????????????????????). Our influence is so strong that we managed to convince some Icelandic fellows to create a non-consentual PVP game 9 years ago. Just to make sure we didn't get found out, we waited 3 years to even truly ~reveal ourselves~ in game, but unfortunately, the intrepid AFK mining Hulk crowd has found us out. |
