Welcome to Eve. Where battles are fast and furious. Where PVP is intense and quick. Where plexing can be as entertaining as a real PVP fight. Where information and notifications flicker across your screen in the blink of an eye.
And where when you get scrambled, you have no way to know if your overview is 10 miles long.
It used to be that Aura would announce that you are warp scrambled. Now, you get a hundredth-of-a-second notification saying "External factors are preventing operation of this module" or some BS that is two lines long and impossible to read in the heat of a fight.
So I'm in a plex (Serpentis Minor Annex) and here come the rats. I wail on the overseer then plan to get out because they're hurtin' pretty bad. As soon as the overseer drops I click warp to station. A couple seconds later I think "Hm, crappy lag" then notice my shields are still plummeting.
While my shields drop below 30%, I scroll my overview up to the top (sorted by distance) and notice TWO Guardian frigs are scramming me. I race for my drones. I sic em and overload my guns and I'm staring at my shields thinking "I've got 10 seconds to pop two frigs."
Doesn't happen. I explode.
Thanks for the awesome user interface, CCP. Put Aura back where she belongs.

Awesome story! Pro tip - your allowed to scoll your overview whenever you want. Im sure you had enough time to check to see if you were warp scrambled while you were killing the overseer.
Whatd you lose?

Shield tanked Ishtar. But something that is 16x16 pixels is not as loud as something that is SPEAKING TO YOU.

How would you hear anything in space? Don't tell me there's artificial sound and you got it turned on!

Probably has something to do with her addiction/obsession to this game
I'd be mad too if I spent hundreds of dollars on GTCs, sold them for in-game money, spent in-game money on ridiculous ships and modules, fit my ships horribad, and lost them real fast.

Smart solution is to pop every frig as soon as you can get your drones and/or guns in range of them. Overkill, maybe, but then you usually don't have to worry about being scrambled after the last frig pops.

On another note, there's this awesome resource that goes by the link of Eve Survival. Any self-respecting carebear that does missions on a regular basis goes over this thing for each mission that they do - so they know what ships trigger spawns, what ships/types/names can scramble them or ECM them. This way, silly things like "I'm not paying attention to overview and got popped 'cause of scramble frigs" don't happen.
Also, in my professional opinion, your Ishtar wasn't setup right anyways. AFK passive shield Ishtar's are really easy to do, and take no real user interaction once you've aggro'd everything in the room. Pop sentries, aggro everything, pull sentries and pop ogre II's - go afk, make a sammich, grab a drink, come back 15-20 minutes later and the room is clear. This is, of course, provided that you've got enough SP's to make this possible.
Edit: I guess I should read the OP more closely, and realize that it was a plex and not a mission. However, I think the rule with the Ishtar setup still applies here.

Well, for tanking 1360 DPS, it sure fried me.
Thing is, seconds matter when scrambled, and not knowing it due to a feature that was removed from the game doesn't help.

to be honest I think CCP do all this on purpose. I think they mean to use stealth killing and im being serious. These are fundamental things you should know when someones attacking you, **** im being scrambled should be screaming at you, **** im being nos'd etc..not some quiet tiny and yes its tiny icon somewhere on overview.
Aura should be utilised more, a bit like in a sci fi film when your onboard computer is telling you wtf is going on! (be funny if it was like red dwarf but wishful thinking)
but i agree totally with op..sorry...

Web and scramble should be shown in the same way as other EW, with the bar at the bottom. Simple.

This
I spend a lot of time in plexes. First thing is pull out the hobs and deal with the frigs well before they're in scram range. If you know the plex you will know which ship names are the tacklers, so keep an eye out and deal with them as as they re-spawn. Once the frigs are out of the way pull in the hobs and let out the med/lrg/sentries (whatever your drones of choice) and take out the Overseer at your leisure.
Thing about plexes, especially hacking/analyzing sites is you need to pay attention. Unlike missions that you can basically AFK your way through.
TL/DR: Zoom out, watch overview.

Okay I want to be clear here -
I make most of my living in exploration sites. So I'm most definitely not whining about plexes being 'too hard to afk'.
I love plexing, it makes me feel relaxed and it's overall an enjoyable experience.
What I'm upset about is that for about what, eight or nine months now, Aura does not report when you are warp scrambled, when she used to all the time. It was one of my favorite sounds of Eve, actually.
Top 10 favorite sounds in Eve:
1. "Your security status has been lowered." 2. "You are unable to warp because you are warp scrambled." 3. Tachyon Beam lasers 4. Neutron Blaster Cannons 5. believe it or not, "The capacitor is empty." 6. "Warp drive active." 7. Minmatar cruisers engines 8. Old Dreadnought movement sounds (sexy stuff) 9. The alarm for session changes. 10. The old fitting panel dropping and loading the grid.
Anyway, a lot of this stuff is gone now, which kind of tells you how CCP feels about sound :( but I want Aura reporting scrambles.

Hey hows about this...?
Do what I do and save two different fighting overview settings. One that shows the normal stuff, and one that shows JUST ENEMIES.
Only thing you have to do then is actually keep the overview looking at the people targeting you.
