On the evening (GMT) of 15.09.2009, the Singularity server will be upgraded to a new build featuring some new functionality being developed for Dominion.
Currently, there is an issue in the Mac client that prevents us from using it with the new Singularity server build. So temporarily, Macs will be unable to connect to Sisi. This is a temporary issue and we are working hard to resolve it as quickly as possible. As soon as this issue is fixed, we will again support Mac clients on Singularity.

Soon your computer will not support TQ! Trolling is not permitted on the forum - we encourage threads that discuss issues in a constructive and spirited atmosphere. < lmfao... |

I assure you all that we value our Mac customers greatly and that is in fact the reason why we are working so hard to fix the issue so we can get our Mac pilots back on Sisi.

Will we be able to run the Sisi client and Tranquility client next to each other on the same machine?

You can have both clients open at the same time sure assuming your PC is able to run dual clients to begin with :)

Thanks Heimdall. It'd be nice to get on Sisi to witness a DD though, before they go out of style.

Most of the time, yes. But in the last run-up to apocrypha they changed something big so that you couldn't do that, which is why I want it confirmed from a CCP dude.

You could run them side-by-side, you just couldn't use the same preference folder, which you probably shouldn't be doing anyway.

Yes, you can run a client connecting to Sisi and one to TQ side-by-side, but they must run from different installation directories.

Will Dominion be taking advantage of any of the new features in Snow Leopard, such as GCD?

Man I pray to God CCP can keep Mac's SiSi clients running for the big 48 hour events. That would seriously suck if we miss the opportunity to have all Lev 5 skills and test the new fighter bombers!

its not very fair if the test on the 18th is closed to mac users, can'r you wait untill both clients work? then we can ALL test the new faction ships.

The test activity will go on as scheduled, but through the development of Dominion, we will be running several such events.
The purpose of this activity is for testing to improve the quality of Dominion, and will provide us with valuable data to fine-tune the release. This will benefit all of our customers - those that use Mac as well as Windows (we use the same base code and assets for Mac and Win). Therefore, it would not be to the benefit of anyone to simply skip the event because Mac users cannot connect at the current time. But we are working to get the Mac client fixed ASAP so that you will be able to be involved in future events.

Edited by: Liang Nuren on 22/09/2009 20:52:08 Are you going to deploy live without having mac support fixed (if it should come time to deploy and this isn't fixed)? I guess: Will a lack of mac support delay deployment?

My guess is that if they have not fixed it by deployment of Dominion they will push the date back for everyone. It would be a lot easier to tell every one that they still haven't finished testing or fixing "x", than having to deal with the complaints of all the mac users who wouldn't be able to play.
That being said, I hope the problem is fixed before this weekend. Missing the almost once in a lifetime opportunity to have all level 5 skills for 48 hours would be very very frustrating.

Out of curiosity, CCP Heimdall, is the issue related to the interprocess communication going on between EVE and Chromium? --- Owl |

Or try parallels, it works well and can run integrated along side osx, hence the name. so no logging in and out.
also it would truly suck if they launched dominion without mac support and i'm pretty sure they won't do that seeing as we've all paid to play it so they can't launch something that they know some of their customers can't access.
hope they fix it soon though, i wanna see the planets. mmmm planets. muchos respect for sorting them out, they were the last thing that needed to change to make eve look truly awesock imo.
