Soz, made a seperate thread for this 'feature' request.
But could there be an option to completely disable it? Looks like the way its been implemented should make it pretty trivial and it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Don't click the browser button? ;)
In seriousness, however, this is something we are investigating.

Edited by: Brolly on 17/09/2009 16:22:31 Watching HD video fullscreen is problematic. Cannot reduce video size as pressing escape minimizes the client and wont go back to full screen.
Due to the overlay, cannot use eve client.

New IGB is bloody fantastic, and I can't believe they haven't mentioned the fleet finder... That is also awesome. Totally hats off to CCP on this one.

I noticed a few bugs...some reproducible on the news site:
- Mousing over the links causes images to vanish. Sometimes the entire page shifts. Other times the other links will vanish.
- When on youtube, mousing over a link causes the website to shift very oddly...
- When watching a video, when it is buffering links start flashing with their underlines.
- When mousing over links, it seems to use the "hover" function on links close to it...or something.
Very nice for a first implementation though. Looking forward to a polished product.

Being able to actually surf real websites from ingame is a bit surreal, but it needs tabs and adblock oh so badly.

A vast improvement. A stop button!
First thing I did was go to the eve front page, and that caused a load of graphics problems; mostly menus and various panels in the page flashing once the video started playing, I'm assuming they're in different layers.
Tabs, a reasonable bookmark manager and a few options for things like proxy servers would be much appreciated, thankyou in advance :)

The browser is flickering in Vista64, both on www.hardocp.com as well as random YouTube videos without resizing the browser window. Actually the client just crashed on YouTube after playing 10 seconds of a video.

Restarted client, www.eve.online.com isn't rendering properly either as this is how it looked in th emiddle of a flick: http://www.mashie.org/eve/browser.jpg

From the very quick look i did, session and ajax works well as does basic dom suff, havent tested any advanced pages yet. Also not sure about cookies. On top of that i have noticed that theres no javascript alert or input boxes, so if you use these youll need to code your own (not overly hard)
I would like to know though, cache, is it IE, Firefox, other or none? Is there a way to clear it if there is any, as well as url history | *edit* found the one to clear history
I did have a small test page that worked with the ingame stuff just to show my current solarsystem, this didnt work, i added the page to trusted and still nothing, is there any list of the changes to the ingame features for the trusted pages.
- There is some caching going on in-memory, currently we're not writing any kind of cache to disk, although that is planned for the future. Obviously this just gets cleared anytime the browser process restarts (either restart the client, or kill wbrowser.exe from task manager and open a browser window up in-game).
- We're hoping to put in support for javascript alerts this sprint, once we've completed the Chromium upgrade.
- As far as the trusted-site thing, this functionality should be working. Are you not seeing any of the trusted site headers once you've trusted the site? Are you going into Options->Trusted Sites and adding the URL to your site? The checkbox in the lower right is not meant to be interactive, it's just a temporary UI thing to indicate trust until we get something that looks better. To get an example of the headers that should be getting sent by the client, you can trust http://www.whatsmyuseragent.com and navigate there, that will give you a full list of the headers sent by your browser.
Originally by: Blane Xero I'm on Seven.
Huh, interesting. I'm not sure if you're seeing the same issue then. We are planning on having a fix to the XP move/resize problem soon, and I'll make sure we get some Windows 7 machines to test on once that's complete. Thanks!
In regards to the trusted sites, everything on my local site works now. When i added it to the options trusted site section im guessing i clicked trusted by accident which made it untrusted and didnt realise it. Adding it again and its marked as trusted and working. I couldent get the site http://www.whatsmyuseragent.com to get marked as trusted though, regardless if i added it to options trusted sites the checkbox in the lower right corner stayed at untrusted and no additional headers where sent.
Im going to have a guess and say that the alert/input prompt problem is the same as the username/password prompt problem, being these are popups external to the web browser so having them rendered in a 3d world might be harder than just displaying web pages.

Bug report, bug report, bug report! We want YOU to bug report all the fleas (bugs) you find on Moondoggie (unless they are already in the Known Issues list).
Also, tabbed browsing is something that we are working on in the current sprint.

Ok, tested the forum, lots of flickering as well where you see the end up seing half the previous page randomly or like this where mos tof the page jumped up as soon as I placed the mouse over the search box onthe right: http://www.mashie.org/eve/browser2.jpg
If this guy has submitted a bug report, then I'll corroborate it ( also using Vista64 ). It's kinda hard to describe the flickering/layer shifting without making a video of it, which I'm not really keen on doing just yet. I also get the youtube crash after about 30s, at least it doesnt wipe the entire game client out.

yeah, im thinking the problem is actually related to x64 systems, as some of the people earlier in the thread that were havign similar problems were using x64 vista systems, so it might be related to x64 bit and not just to win 7 ______________________________________________ Waiting for some random to make me a new sig |

Any ETA or details on other javascript methods that will be supported other than invoking eve mail? Will we be able to query other information like fleet members, cargohold contents and that sort of thing via javascript? The above two things would let us build some pretty neat apps to be able to track mining ops and stuff like that.

I just have to ask please don't fix
* Sounds continue playing from Youtube on close o Playing a video on youtube and closing the browser results in the song still playing until the end. A reboot of the client is needed to fully stop the song. Haven't yet tested on anything else Flash-based.
ultimate rick rolls!!!!!!!!!!!
also is it just me or is the igb a memory hog? seriously it uses more memory then the eve client

First let me say thank you for finally getting this to the point we can start trying it out.
A feature request I'd like to make would be for you to add some kind of version info to the user-agent header. The eve client version would be great for this but anything would work. Would make it appear like a more normal browser in the server logs and could have some other uses as well. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Designer of Yapeal for Eve API.

Just a thought, for the people having problems with the resizing or moving of the browser, list your graphics card and drivers, since were now dealing with a 3d type browser in a 3d environment its possible that the graphics card and drivers might be playing a part in the problem
