Why is a free ride (+lodging/plane, -booze) to the FanFest not part of the winners package? Tournament is always prior to FF if i am not mistaken.
They could participate in FF PvP tourny and give interviews like proper Eve-celebrities.

Do you think missile spamming shieldy logistics oriented setups should be gimped and put away?
I think so. Ravens should be nerfed. Especially the small ones (I hate those).
Also, my regards to the merry band of hobo pilots sleeping rough under the keras/gosc bus shelter in Baldrick (J145753), may the wormhole dice grant us an empire wh so I can get the providence in later. Or even better, another 0.0 wh so we can go reinact district 9.

Some of the people participating in the tourney are too ugly for internet-tv, CCP doesn't want to take the chance. Imagine a bunch of ugly goons giving interviews, the horror.

Onward in the tournament the stakes will get higher, how will the teams generally develop their tactics? Will the tendency go towards more gank or more tank later in the tournament?
What is the major contribution of all those tier1/2 battlecruisers to the teams, in the contrary to last year I see apart from the Drake also a lot of Brutix's, Harbingers and Hurricanes this year.
What has been, statistically, the most successful tactic in the Alliance tournaments thusfar?

Beyond Virginity and Dead Terrorists mainly specialise in small scale warfare. Do you think they can upset the bigger alliances?

I'm not being naive.
Being naive is thinking a 12 year old has never heard that word before. Unless you live in Buckingham Palace, I somehow doubt it's the case.
Coupled with that, you play Eve. You know the kind of language that gets thrown around in game. If you don't like it, or don't want your kids to see it, and the tournament broadcast has the same ESRB rating as the game, why let kids watch it?
Common sense says you wouldn't, you'd protect them from it.
Anyway, I'll leave you to troll now. It's pretty much all you've done, and all you've bothered to be here for since this forum was re-opened, so you're obviously ass-tight over something rather than just enjoying the event.
Whatever it is, I'm sure you'll pull the stick out of your ass and get over it some day.

Only read the OP and responding to a statement from the broadcast a few minutes ago. Just a comment on the 'realism' of tourney combat vs. live PvP situations.
Does the Tourney have to perfectly represent live PvP? I'd say no.
If you argue the combat should take place over and entire system, why not an entire constellation? If it should allow all modules, would the modules then need points values to reflect thier usefullness? All of these things would lead to it being harder to watch, broadcast, judge and moderate.
The tourney combat only needs to emulate certain elements of PvP, the way boxing only emulates certain elements of actual hand to hand combat. On TQ you are only limited by the scope of the game itself, but a competetive contest really needs a limited set of rules to make it manageable.
This does not mean the rules can't or shouldn't be changed from year to year. It's not a bad thing to strive for a certain amount of 'realism' in the tourney PvP, I'm just saying it isn't required. |

Question: What time is it up there? is this time block the only real viable time to host the Tournament? and if so, would it be portentially possible to move the time to Friday & Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday? It's difficuilt for us down under (Australia/New Zealand) to physically stay awake that late two nights in a row (1500 GMT = 1am the following day in Australia)... and the Tourny Sunday is our monday, so its back to work for us as well

just wanted to ask if others are having connectivity issues with the HD stream... I am only able to keep a stable connection active for about ~20min, sometimes is dies out much eariler.
The stream seems to always be reconnecting but it would be nice if it would not stutter out.

People having below -5 security status have an option (when using autopilot) to avoid above 0.4 security systems and not being shot by concord.
Now, i have a sec of -3.3 but there is not option for me for using autopilot and avoid getting into systems where concord will attack and kill my ship.

Question - With current sov being changed. What will happen on release to the current sov holders. Will there be a temporary sov hold period or will all sov be effectively dropped. Seems to be the main discussion so far among most sov holding alliances.

Question for whoever really (either Experts or Soundwave & co)
Why is it that on SiSi the main bulk of PVP ships used, tend to be minmatar & Amarr, followed by gallente, then last caldari mainly (if you don't count baitdrakes).
The Alliance tournament seems to be the exact opposite almost, where gallente & caldari are very predominant (Brutix, Nighthawks...) followed by the amarr & minmatar BC's (Harbi & Hurricanes) on par, and last the retribution/damnation followed by the Minmatar Commandships last.
Ideas ? :D

I see so many Eos and Astarte and they do so much damage. I know with the Eos they tried to give the command ship the drone capacity bonus, but why don't we have a solid drone bonus command ship. The Myrmidon is a great ship for doing missions so perhaps it wouldn't do so well in PVP, but with its pile of medium and low slots I would think it would make a formidable foe with alot of command support to bring to the field.
Do you think CCP will release a Tech II version of the Myrmidon anytime soon?

not so much a tournament question but interested to hear experts opinion :)
As a new corp with mostly new players looking to pvp and only really able to afford to lose t1 frigs and cruisers on a regular basis, what is the best option to find targets and get into pvp? low sec is a bit dodgy since you can't tank sentry guns, so that leaves 0.0 npc space roaming or fw? any thoughts?

Why so much Caldari was asked on the show, when there seems to be a bias in general against Caldari. Actually this is not a question, but maybe something to discuss.
Personally I love the Caldari ships, not for damage or fit, but because the CCP modelers have put more time into making them look better in my honest opinion.
They look like what you expect a ship to look in scifi.
People are drawn to them.
Can we get a comment from the CCP developer on the looks of the ships?
Will it improve?
I know the T3 stuff is awesome so far.

when looking at the stats I noticed that the one class you have absolutely 0% chance of surviving in no mather what race is the HAC. How is that does everyone consider them such a risk that they need to be take care of fairly straight away.

what alliance have been the biggest let down in the tourney. And what alliance is in the finals that you just dident think would be there?
were is the metagaming in this tourney we have seen alot of trolls but none rely confirmed meta or is that saved for tomorrows finals?
we have seen a few people multibox in this tourney. What is the advantage of doing so instead of having two different people field one ship each. Also would you dare to multibox in the tourney or is the risk to lose yourself in one box and forgetting the second to high?

We have seen a large majority of fielded ships being Caldari, while Minmatar bring up the rear in number of fielded ships. However the Minmatar ships take the lead in ships destroyed throughout the tournament.
Do the experts think this statistic is the result of the rule/point based format or are there other factors at play here related to the races performance in specialized small combat?

Griffins, noticing there getting used more in TQ (low sec), they loose the t2 resists, but gain fast lock time, get good bonuses and are a nightmare to lay down the DPS onto them, i think were gona see more in the tourny's in the future as a cheap replacement alterantive to the much loved n lost falcon, but do you think they will be as effective as the rook.... DPS / Jamming / Tank wise?

Question for Willow or anyone else able. Are roaming gangs going to be able to force a fight in Sov mechanics? Will they be able to damage mechanics to make you want to defend VS a Roaming gang hanging around too long shooting something? |

Sometimes commentators do need to think a bit b4 they speak...
the midslots were not wasted, it was just common sense. If only one of the destroyer hulls had a painter fitted, and it blew up, what then? and multiple painters allow also multiple small targets to be shot at effectively.
SECOND: NO NAME ALLIANCES?!?! wow...this shows where some of people hold their heads, and hold them deep in there...
I'd check killboards and history. CO2's been around for a while. Venal and other NPC regions are the pvp zones, not the gheyness 50 man BS gatecamps in lowsec. ...Who is BYDI? pirate corps? Who's VETO? I mean lol, where you find these guys...
Really...Some comments, especially the ones during the qualifying matches in the first weekend, have left me stunned completely, speechless...
Another point, stop bullying drakes, if flown properly they do ownage upon all those "l337" cool fliers...If the teams that bring the drakes are accused of lack of ingenuity and imagination, those that keep repeating those lame comments are easily held accountable of being dull and full of some brown stuff...

Hey Stevie and commentators.
Smegnet and Smeggers have been discussion the PL setup.
brining those stealth bombers 3 times in a row.
Will they keep brining that same setup, og pull out a suprise setup from last year.
and WHAT can counter that bomber setup, interceptors would do the trick. but the schimitar and Loki would easily counter interceptors, right ? so what would the best counter be ?
also, PL starts every match using bombs and then switches to torps, is the trick to warp in at distance and try to maybe snipe the bombers before they get in range.
all in all, Pl setups and how to counter it.

How do you guys feel about ship degeneration from damage, perhaps as an affect you toggle? Say as ships get into armor and structure you see little bits flying off, maybe an engine explodes just to add more realism to the game, should it be added, is it even possible?

Q to the Studio guys..
It's regarding PVP overall.. Specially in 0.0 Space.
I would like to see local work like it does atm but when non friendly toon join local or are in local they wont show their names, you will be able to see their corp and alliance info but just not their names.
And then also with the grip/overview the names of the toons that fly them shouldent show.
So the main q is don't you guys like to see a change in overview and local?
The info it gives is kinda ruining for some advanced pvpers. Many like it because it gives them unfair advantage.. I'm not going into all that!

On the first day of Dominion do you guys feel that there will be a power rush within 0.0? Or at least a break in relations within the Massive NAP trains present in eve today?
E.G Surprise attacks etc
Question2:
The new titan single shot weapon seems to be a lil over powered insta popping dreads and carriers. What would stop large allainces Jumping in 10 Titans and wiping out a entire cap fleet in a few minutes - Doesnt this knock out the role of the carrier and Dread in 0.0 combat or at least make Allainces think twice before fielding there caps?

As being FPS player since 1993...
That's over 16 years of FPS gaming...
I have tried nearly all of the FPS versions for consoles, and they are horrible. Please, could CCP give atleast some kind of answer of not releasing the Dust for PC...?
Is it just a plan to make FPS MMORPG for console with poor GUI & UI, in otherwords making the kids as minmatar slaves for EVE players..?

Question for either the commentators or couch potatoes:
I have heard, between the numerous people talking, multiple reasons for why the Pandemic legion has been doing so well, between the ability to adapt, to being able to guess what their opponent will bring, to being great in-game pilots, out of game players, and finally, depthless wallets.
So what's the final verdict? Are they just better at anything, or is there one thing that gives PL the true edge when it comes to these tourneys?

Didn't realise that these Dire and Loxy had joined up with CCP, very cool news. CCP has always had high quality trailers, but with the addition of these two I'm really looking forward to what they can pull off with the Dominion trailer.
